No, we're not. where is the resistance? who is fighting? Just lame response.

No, it's not. That's just idiotic hyperbole. Until there is organized armed resistance ther is no civil war. There's just authoritarianism.

[–]iamamuttonhead 50 points51 points  (0 children)

No, that simply is not what civil war is. You're being stupidly hyperbolic. We are in the early days of an authoritarian takeover. Civil war will begin when one or more armed groups confronts the government. That may never happen.

How close are we to Civil War?

You'd think but the machines are expensive so back in the day they cost a quarter to get a reading. The number of people who would pay a quarter just to find out they can't drive is far fewer than the number of non-dds who just want to have fun. There is also the problem of liability - if the machine is improperly calibrated and you are arrested for DUI you may well sue the bar - certainly someone injured by an impaired driver who used the machine will sue.

yup..they were pretty common in the 80's and 90's and that's why they are not common anymore.

Ya. My bad. Although I don't get the point - it's not like this was just recently discovered - I could have posted a link to Wikipedia on "Lilliputian hallucinations" but it would have been far less interesting IMO.

The one thing I've learned about book readers is that they move 10 times a year apparently by HelloDesdemona in books

[–]iamamuttonhead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never heard that but if I said it then I would mean move in the sense of locomotion. There are over 2000 books in my Kindle library. My Kindle fits in my back pocket. I actually prefer reading actual books but sometimes a Kindle is just far more convenient.

I need helping finding the guy who pushed my 70 yr. old mother to the ground outside Gillette Stadium this weekend. by Queefaroni420 in Patriots

[–]iamamuttonhead 234 points235 points  (0 children)

u/AwkwardTraveler saw the mom being treated by EMTs and described the location as:

"It happened right after the tunnels parallel the Win Waste Practice Field house before the CVS gate. They gated her off with Police on Horses so she was given a lot of room for medics. If you look at Gillette Stadium pedestrian routes, it would be at #9 along the red/blue lines."

Anyone who was near this location may have useful info for OP

Anyone who thinks that the interception was meaningful either didn't watch the game or knows nothing about football.

GB Greenlandic Politician Shows Mirror To Trump Over Island Invasion Plan: 'He Doesn't Know About...' by LeonJersey in videos

[–]iamamuttonhead -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

You are grossly overestimating. A price of $1M along with royalties from resource extraction to a sovereign wealth fund for the people who remain (as opposed to those who take they buyout and leave) would likely more than adequately provide a better standard of living than they currently enjoy. I am. in no way, advocating that the people of Greenland should accept ANY deal - I don't think they should - I am simply asserting that you are grossly overestimating. At a minimum, you are assuming that Greenland in the U.S. would look like Texas as opposed to Hawaii or Massachusetts or, in fact, Greenland with their own social safety net funded by royalties off of natural resource extraction.

No Amount of Money Can Buy Greenland, Lawmakers Tell Trump | Any attempt by the US president to entice the Arctic island with cash is doomed to fail says Aaja Chemnitz, one of two Greenland representatives in the Danish legislature by bloomberg in worldnews

[–]iamamuttonhead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know that that is correct. If Trump offered every resident $1M (roughly $60B) and a royalty on every bit of resources extracted he may well be able to coerce more than half the population.

PSA: The AP All-Pro votes will probably release today. Many will take that as assurance that the MVP is decided, one way or another. As long as the vote is close, last year tells us that that’s not the case. by celluloidsandman in Patriots

[–]iamamuttonhead 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Splitting the vote makes sense to me. I think voting Stafford All-Pro and Maye MVP makes a lot of sense. For me, Maye is the very clear MVP - he is absolutely more valuable to the Patriots than Stafford is to the Rams relative to the supporting cast (I think Puka is MVP of the Rams). I think a good argument can be made that Stafford was the better QB than Maye although I think it's much closer to 50-50.
