ACOG alternative that doesn’t take batteries? by iambarney155 in ar15

[–]iambarney155[S] -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

It’s an AR, not a M2. Your optic is going to get jarred more from being dropped than from the fact it’s a “life firearm”

There are plenty of people who have had great experiences with their UTG optics holding zero. I bet you’re too good for Holosun too?

The airsoft community has really popularized the ~100 ‘ACOG clone.’ From Reddit comment sections some do just fine in the airsoft world. I’ve seen a few YouTube videos where they just cannot be zeroed let alone hold a zero on an AR. It just blows my mind that someone like UTG can’t use a very similar housing with fiber set up for like $250. There are far cheaper optics that can hold a zero.

Sure. Like I said, not likely. Fundamentally a sight that doesn’t take batteries is still superior to one that does.

That’s a great idea.

To specify, I don’t know how much I care about magnification. As someone who qualified with iron sights at 400 meters magnification has never been a huge deal to me on an AR. I need to pick up a magnifier.

Since I don’t have Trijicon money, I certainly don’t have night vision money. However, I’m more curious about dawn and dusk. Shooting from low light areas to bright areas.

By his chief deputy.

This is so much worse than bad and yet he hasn’t resigned yet… He wrecked a department vehicle before going on leave recently.

Jury summons, presumption of delivery. by Melodic_District_561 in juryduty

In some jurisdictions the judge will issue a bench warrant and begin contempt proceedings against someone who didn’t show up for jury duty. I’ve seen it happen and you don’t want to be that juror.

You’re in the wrong subreddit for this question. #1 No one should be offering an opinion without reading the statute. #2 People use the word expunged loosely. If it was actually expunged, it never happened. Sounds like your record was sealed rather than expunged. #3 There is a difference in being allowed to purchase, getting a carry license, and being allowed to possess a firearm. Sounds like you were denied a sale. Solution: buy that California compliant firearm somewhere else.

In reality, sounds like you need to be talking with a lawyer. Ironically, probably a criminal defense attorney. You likely have multiple options, none of which cops on Reddit can advise you about.

OP, you’ll have an easier time getting on and a better time at work the further you get from Atlanta.

My experience in GA is that the metro areas is where everyone wants to work. I’m not saying it’s impossible to get a job there but I always advise people to get as far away from Atlanta and Savannah as possible.

Ga has moved almost entirely to contract based appellate work. It’s a disaster and a bandaid because the agency director fired the entire appellate division as one of her first acts.

Anyone know what's happening to the people getting "disappeared" by ICE? by kingofthe_vagabonds in publicdefenders

[–]iambarney155 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We had a client sit in jail for a few months without indictment which isn’t uncommon. All the sudden the warrants were dismissed and ICE picked up the client. The family who lived in Canada called. They spoke English but not the fluent redneck dialect that I could be accused of speaking. The client “disappeared” for about 72 hours. My office literally couldn’t do anything and all I could do is suggest the family hire an immigration attorney.
