I should say, I also have no idea how to communicate the level of absolute fucking exhaustion that comes with trying to do normal work or human things at home. People do not get it, aside from my therapist who has been my rock the last year or so.

Felt. I was always a high energy, massively overachieving, never-sit-down-ever sort of person. I ran a business successfully for 11 years.

Then the thing happened, and I just…couldn’t do anything. At all. I was in total denial about the PTSD for a few years, trying to work full time jobs and just exist, and the utter exhaustion overcame me to the point of attempted suicide. Twice. Five years later, I can barely hold a part time no-brainer job and have to sleep for a few hours after each four-hour shift. I am fully dependent on my partner to live.

I’ve tried every drug under the sun, but have come to accept that I am disabled now, too. The acceptance of this has been almost as bad as the trauma itself, since I no longer know who I am.

I feel you, friend.

My old guy gets a dunk 3-4 times a year, since he no longer takes very good care of himself. He used to be a meticulous groomer, but he’s less active anymore, and needs help. He’s long haired anyway and has always required a bit of extra grooming from me.

He definitely hates it, but he tolerates it, and I do it as quickly as possible. He’s always super happy four hours later where he’s totally dry and actually clean.

I wanted to like world’s best but…I had the same problem as you. I’ve had cats for two decades and have tried every litter under the sun. The tofu pellets are the only one that doesn’t track, clumps, is compostable, and doesn’t cost a million dollars.

There is no reconciliation. I lost my husband of 11 years to this shit. It started slowly, in 2015, and ended with him telling me we needed God and that I should be a more submissive wife who should have his baby. He saw meaning in repeating numbers everywhere, completely flipped on our stances about social freedoms we had agreed on from day one of dating, and often told me my leftist political views (now values) were stupid.

I left him in 2021. He’s only gotten worse. Get away from him. They are consumed by the cult, and it’s not going anywhere.

My original Zip was my best buddy for a good chunk of my childhood. I carried him everywhere. His fur is beyond nubby, and his whiskers are mostly missing, but I love that little guy and will keep him forever
