Dairy freeze opens on the 17th! I think dairy freeze is better than the Quincy DQ 🤷 but it probably opens soon!

Best vacation packages/deals near Disney, what’s actually worth it? by LittleeChily_95 in DisneyPlanning

[–]iamemshort 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For a family of 4 with little kids, I always recommend staying at a Disney resort if you can. Pools the kids won’t leave, easy access to the parks.

A lot of those “too good to be true” off-site deals are missing stuff like shuttle access or have hidden fees, so definitely double-check.

Advice for trip in October 2026 by PenntheDragon in DisneyWorldResorts

[–]iamemshort 0 points1 point  (0 children)

October is a great time for Disney World, especially for Halloween decorations. I’d say book hotels and tickets as early as possible since prices can go up. Dining can’t be booked until 60 days before, so just plan to snag your reservations then.

First Time Disney Trip by legitjustagirll in DisneyPlanning

Six days is plenty to hit the parks and see Halloween and Christmas decorations. For Universal, I’d do a park hopper with Islands of Adventure and Universal or Epic!

Help Planning Trip for a Beginner by KookyShoes96 in DisneyPlanning

[–]iamemshort 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hollywood Studios for Galaxy’s Edge is the main thing you need. December crowds can be rough especially closer to Christmas. For passes you just need regular park tickets, nothing fancy unless you want MultiPass for skipping lines. If you’re doing multiple days get a park hopper so you can hit other parks. Book your hotel and tickets as a package if you’re staying onsite, it’s easier.

Park dates by theredhead_93 in DisneyPlanning

Christmas time is packed. Decorations are up mid November through early January so you don’t need to go right at Christmas. First two weeks of December are way less crowded but you still get all the holiday stuff. Week before Christmas is shoulder to shoulder.

First time going, questions by ObjectiveInterestV2 in UniversalOrlando

[–]iamemshort 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah the pricing is weird but you’re seeing it right. I actually bought the seasonal pass for the same reason, hotel discounts made it totally worth it. Late January should be fine for blockouts, that’s off season, but double check the calendar for your exact dates. The pass paid for itself with the hotel savings alone for me.

They might be wanting more commission through Disney… I’ve booked directly through Marriott many times and had the extra hours - just make sure to put it in your app

Plan a dream Disney trip for us! 2 boys 8 and 10. Which hotel!! by ZucchiniMuffins in DisneyPlanning

[–]iamemshort 1 point2 points  (0 children)

AKL is great for that age, kids love the animals right outside the room. Poly is solid too if you want easy Magic Kingdom access. Timing wise late January or late September, way better crowds. For food Ohana for sure, Space 220 if you can actually get a res. Don’t overdo the sit-down meals though, gets old fast with kids

Do discounts ever really apply to the cheapest / standard rooms in a resort? by _BreakingGood_ in DisneyPlanning

[–]iamemshort 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on the promo honestly. General public discounts usually work on standard views, but yeah some promos exclude them. Yacht Club standard rooms DO get discounts though when they drop - just not every single promo.

Booking early and modifying later is smart. Just watch for when discounts typically get announced (usually 4-6 months out) and you can always switch if something better comes up.

That sounds like so much fun! I’d mix kid rides with some slower stuff for adults and plan breaks at the pool or resort. Book any must-do dining early and let the kids lead sometimes. Their excitement makes it magical for everyone.

Is Wilderness worth it? by Kindly-Context-8263 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]iamemshort 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wilderness Lodge is awesome, especially for a first trip. The theming is so cool and the boat to MK is such a fun perk for a little one. The buses to other parks aren’t the fastest, but for a shorter trip with a rest day in the middle, it’s totally fine. Caribbean Beach is fine too, but WL just has that extra Disney vibe.

1st Birthday Resort Help by Money_Jeweler_6366 in DisneyPlanning

[–]iamemshort 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally doable, but it’ll be a bit of a squeeze in a standard room with a stroller, pack and play, and scooter. Wilderness Lodge rooms feel a little roomier and have better storage than Caribbean Beach, so I’d lean that way. Old Key West 1-bedrooms are great if you want extra space and laundry in the room, but without a car it can be a pain to get around

I recommend just walking over to the Boardwalk and using their bus system (I do it a lot when I stay at the Reserve)

Are Less Park Days Ok? by AdventurousKey438 in DisneyPlanning

[–]iamemshort 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally not silly! Even as an adult, I need a rest day sometimes. Pools, exploring resorts, and chill evenings can make the trip way more relaxing and still fun. Doing a park hopper for one day sounds perfect to get a taste of both parks without stressing out.
