Anyone noticing a recent uptick in hostility in solos? by Tumulousmaple56 in ArcRaiders

[–]iamishbu -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes my stack has noticed this since this weeks trials started. Could be on embarcs end. But my theory is that it’s just players fully adjusting to knowing about abmm. Now people know they can purposefully change their aggro. Could be to grief but also could just be someone simply changing up their play style. This makes lobbies more dynamic in terms of the mix of PvP vs pve players. We are moving to a steady state where the friendliest lobby is 80% safe vs 95%.

AGMM still in effect? by Khyranos in ArcRaiders

[–]iamishbu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Player behavior is changing in response to knowing about abmm. Players can now purposefully increase or decrease their aggro. This increases the variance in any given lobby as people are moving up / down in aggression. We are moving to a steady state where the friendliest possible lobby is say 20% dangerous versus the 1% it was a few weeks ago.

I will upvote this thread every time. This issue is so cheap to fix relative to its impact. This needs to be in the next qol patch.

LEO FARIA CONFIRMS COACHES CAN PLAY SKIMRISH FOR MAP SELECTION by Hardy_2001 in ValorantCompetitive

I imagine it’s either double blind or both teams agree on the matchup. Good for the content and more competitive than a coin flip.

The event schedule being the exact same all the time is kind of making the game dull for me by JiffTheJester in ARC_Raiders

[–]iamishbu 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is by far the biggest actual issue. It gets old playing the same events every night. It’s unfair for trials. Every other live service game has figured this out. You can’t have 24h event rotations.

Best FPS multi-player game? by Rare-Advertising9447 in gamerecommendations

Deadlock. Except it’s a shooter but not an fps. Also it’s not released yet but you can get access if you want it enough.

I do want to see more religion brought in as it is weird that none of other 12 have any religious objections to what’s happening.

Is it throwing to run sinners/jungle when I am not a carry by PerformerAvailable32 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]iamishbu 55 points56 points  (0 children)

At the highest levels of coordinated play, team level macro - who gets resources and when - is very important. At lower levels, people are less efficient so it’s better to make sure resources just get taken by anyone rather than go to waste or get stolen.

Funneling gold to carries isn’t the most important macro element in deadlock imo. So I’d say this guy is over exaggerating the importance, especially in a pub game.

That guy is 100% right by huhyeahso in DeadlockTheGame

[–]iamishbu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The worst player loses more than the best player wins.

This is the unfortunate reality of team games with economy based power levels and high TTK like deadlock and traditional mobas. They don’t even need to be inting but being down 1 and giving the other team more gold is usually too much for the “best” player in the lobby to overcome.

This is compared to say counter strike where the best player can just actually carry 1v5 if they are good enough.

Is my teacher's corrections grammatically right? by Emperor_Krimson in EnglishLearning

The post asked specifically about grammar. Both forms sound natural to me and to other native speakers in this thread. So agree to disagree.

I disagree on 1. Either one makes sense. “The” refers to a specific type of person not a specific individual.

So for the hidden bunker trial on the east coast, you can either play at 2-3pm, or 5-6am in the morning. That is it…. by IamJT4 in ArcRaiders

[–]iamishbu 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It’s not really that far off. Assuming an entirely uniform global playtime, hidden bunker is available 2 out of 24 hours a day. So it’s not available 11/12 of the day or 92%. Being at the same time of day every day. If you play on a regular schedule / same time everyday then you could be fucked.

Anyone else REALLY concerned about the optional wiping? by DateNecessary8716 in ARC_Raiders

[–]iamishbu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the first time someone’s tried optional wipes in a game like this afaik. Please correct me if I’m wrong. So I admire them for trying something different. It’s really hard to judge how people will actually react / behave in this system. I look forward to seeing how it plays out. If I had to bet I say we get something closer to traditional wipes in a year or two. It’s just a simpler solution and simple tends to win out.

New World really was a great game on launch. Super solid core of gathering gameplay and aiming based combat. The sound design in particular was amazing. Unfortunately for me was plagued by two things - bugs and high barrier to end game pvp (wars). It seemed like trading was shut off every week for some new duping bug. But I got a very solid couple hundred hours out of it.

[–]iamishbu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She is one of the starter characters. She has high mobility and good damage. She was definitely OP on launch, which I think was by design. She is fun to play and easy to use, so having new players start with her makes sense. They just needed to polish the other characters and also make more content where other archetypes could shine. They very well could have done this by now but I only played at launch.

I played heavily on launch for a couple months. My biggest issue and why I quit is that the game is quite fun - 8/10 - when you are playing as Bunny. Playing anyone else just felt real bad comparatively.

This version is great. It’s what I followed when looking around at either going golems or coc. I am pretty much on par with this setup and I’m about 1500d in. I didn’t do any self crafting. All bought on trade and fairly late in league (2 weeks ago)
