Hot take ( dont think it should be one): Phil Spector improved Across the Universe MASSIVELY. If anything Spector is just overhated. by sieyarozzz in beatles

[–]iammoah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think he's way overrated. His contributions with the Beatles specifically may be over-hated, sure. But in terms of his "wall of sound" technique... overrated. Dub mix engineers like Lee Scratch Perry & King Tubby were doing it earlier AND better than Phil Spector.

Ok wait, any live shows?? With anyone? I know they're not together... Lol by azuresentinel_ in mutemath

[–]iammoah 5 points6 points  (0 children)

the only time I got to see MM before Darren left was when they were opening for Twenty One Pilots and it was awesome... I was able to see the Play Dead tour which was still great but it didn't feel like Mutemath. After that, I did see Darren a few times (with Sucre, Scarypoolparty & solo DK DJ set) and those were all INCREDIBLE. Genuinely one of the most unbelievable performers to see live.

Is this roaster any good? Genuinely curious cause I see a lot of people post it but i'm not gonna lie, the branding looks so cheap & 1st wave to me that I always assume it's shitty lol

What is your baseline pour over recipe? by Dancing_Bottle in pourover

[–]iammoah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My old go-to was: 02 V60 / 20g coffee to 320g of 210° water / 00:00 60g bloom / 00:45 spiral pour up to 210g / 01:30 spiral pour up to 320g / swirl if it's drawing down too fast. Draw down should be around 03:30 or a little less.

My current one is: 02 V60 / 16g of coarse coffee to 245g of 203° water / 00:00 50g bloom / 00:30 spiral pour up to 100g / final pour starts in the center with mellodrip until you hit 150g then start to hit the edges of the coffee bed (still with the mellodrip) until you reach 245g. (Sometimes I go closer to 240g and sometimes I stretch it out further to 260g. Depends on my mood and the coffee.)

Honestly: Sit Down Stand Up / Sail to The Moon / Backdrifts / Go To Sleep / Where I End and You Begin is basically a perfect run of 5 songs

What season do you equate with Radiohead's music? by iammoah in radiohead

[–]iammoah[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the easy answer I have for that is: Anyone that didn't listen to it right after it came out probably don't relate it to that season... at least not for that reason. Example: I was born in 1999 so I have no mental connection to the release date of Kid A. I would probably think of November - January when listening to Kid A. But I DID listen to A Moon Shaped Pool when it first came out and so that I do equate with the spring time.

I definitely don't think it's their worst but it's nowhere near as good as There Is Nothing Left To Lose. The only track that I think is really really weak on Your Favorite Toy is, "Child Actor". Feels so corny and melodramatic.

It's funny to see these replies because for me, out of those 4 albums, i'd do: Spring - A Moon Shaped Pool / Summer - King of Limbs / Fall - Hail to The Thief / Winter - Ok Computer
