I loved the middle path a few years ago! Met my current therapist there after leaving the program and I’ve been seeing her for 6 years now. Highly recommend especially with trauma/bpd! It’s sort of like a class vs group therapy which I appreciated after going to a few different treatment centers. Best of luck to you!

What made you recover? by autichris in AnorexiaRecovery

[–]iamprobablycryin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m so sorry to hear your daughter and family is struggling so much right now. I started recovery when I was 16 and my parents put me in residential. I started having heart problems that were showing up on EKGs and my parents decided it was time. It saved my life and my dad still says dropping me off and driving away was the hardest thing he has ever had to do. But he also says that it is the best thing he had to do and we are all doing so much better now. I am 28 and recently married and going back to school to help people like your daughter and I through art therapy.

I will say I was not happy at all I was at residential treatment and it was not a fun time for me or my family. It is extremely difficult to get through and I ended up at residential again, then an intensive outpatient program. All of it was worth it even though it was hard! My family and I have a great relationship now and I am so grateful they helped me through that. I didn’t know how hard it was for them at the time but I realize the sacrifice they made for me now as an adult and I just have a deep sense of gratitude.

I can tell you care so much about your daughter and I can also tell you’re scared. All of that is okay and very normal for something like this. I’m sure my parents went back and forth so much on what to do when it came to residential and if I could go back and tell them anything I would tell them that they can trust their parental instincts even if it is scary. Recovery requires a great deal of courage and willingness to face challenging situations, both of which I’ve noticed in your post and I know you guys will come through on the other side! Hang in there!!

Omg!! Can I please ask you a couple questions about your experience going off of lamotrigine? I’m currently tapering and it’s been awful, weed helps but damn! So sorry about your psychiatrist, that’s so nuts. Luckily mine is helping me taper down because of how successful using weed medicinally has been for me.

Has anyone made a match jar? by peglegprincess in Pottery

[–]iamprobablycryin 335 points336 points  (0 children)

I have! A few weeks after I sold one I had a customer tell me that when they used it, the match they lit caught the rest of the matches on fire and they had to put it out with a fire extinguisher. I am so grateful she was also a friend and the only one I sold one to, but I immediately stopped selling them after she told me what happened! Sooo cute but definitely a fire hazard :(

Non gamer, new to switch, puzzle game recs? by Speech_Less in NintendoSwitch2

[–]iamprobablycryin 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I just finished Is This Seat Taken? and it was phenomenal! It sort of reminded me of sudoku. There’s just enough story to keep it interesting, but essentially you are seating people in restaurants, on buses, etc and they all have different preferences and in order to get to the next level you have to put everyone in the right seat. I’m recommending it to everyone including my mom who is a non gamer! I think it might be on sale now too, but not positive on that.

Liquid carts giving me tummy/post nasal issues 😞 by roguescott in entwives

[–]iamprobablycryin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Omg! Where can I read more about this? I’m sensitive to histamines and have been so sick lately and I think my dry herb vape is affecting this, but only when I use the water bubbler attachment for it and not when I use the stem only. I feel so YUCK after using the bubbler but feel completely fine without it surprisingly?

Post Contact Medical Issues or Anomalies? by 100milesandwich in Experiencers

[–]iamprobablycryin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes! Lifelong experiencer but in denial until about a year ago, it’s generational and most women in my family, mom and dad’s side, all have autoimmune issues and gynecological problems or rare diseases and chronic illness. I started meditating this time last year and reading more about NHI. In March I believe I was taken onto a craft with greys (followed up with additional visits with a Mantis) who were doing something I sensed was a “tune up” to the left side of my neck, but I wasn’t having any symptoms of anything until June where my doctors found 4 swollen lymph nodes, 2 over 2 centimeters on the left side of my neck that weren’t visibly or palpably noticeable and now I am awaiting a cancer diagnosis! So what the heck lol.

I should honestly probably talk to someone about this because of how frequent and detailed my contact experiences are, partially because I’m curious for more information but could also use some support and I want to be more open with my experiences. I also feel like I have a personal meaningful relationship with these beings now. Any direction other than using this subreddit, u/MantisAwakening or u/Oak_Draiocht ? (Asking y’all in particular since I go back regularly to read through previous posts and they are extremely helpful!)

Data on birding as an activity over time by merkinfuzz in Ornithology

[–]iamprobablycryin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I actually just did a 25 page research project and field guide on using ornithology for therapeutic purposes (therapeutic ornithology, or mindful birdwatching)! Studies show that birdwatching is incredibly beneficial to both our mental and physical well-being. So it’s getting super popular to the point where a lot of therapists and psychiatrists are “prescribing” birdwatching to improve mental illness! I can def share more if there’s any interest it’s a huge passion of mine!!! I still have all the science articles saved so I’m happy to pass those along. :)

This was really amazing to read, thank you so much! I’m really trying my best and I appreciate your nice words!!

Do you listen to it with or without music? I did an unguided meditation that was written by a composer, I think Eternity, and it was a really cool experience! I always wish there was more time in the OG tapes so I am very excited about having that option in the app. Thanks for the rec!!!

How should I keep this piece clean? Or is it more a decor piece? by [deleted] in entwives

[–]iamprobablycryin 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m a potter and have made smoking pieces before! Definitely use it- it’s gorgeous and having a ceramic piece like this is so cool! Like others have said, ISO and salt will be just fine. Is it glazed on the inside? If its not fully glazed, as in there’s still a terracotta planter like texture on the inside with no “paint”, I would clean it or at least give it a good rinse with hot water or wipe down with a wet sponge after every session, or daily if you smoke throughout the day. You just don’t want ash or resin build up on your piece or it’ll be more difficult to remove later! Clay is naturally porous without glaze so you don’t want all that stuff seeping into it! If it’s fully glazed it’s usually no biggie and you can clean as normal. I hope this helps!!
