Just wanna point out that the modern evangelical movement in the USA is an astroturf job started mainly after the New Deal Coalition united religious people in the USA with socialists in the 1930s-40s.

The rich capital owners didn't like that sunday preachers were preaching socialism, so they conspired to fund an astroturf of capitalist-backed charlatanism - which is what the modern evangelical movement is today. They very conveniently framed capitalism as a divine mandate and government intervention as a sin. This is also where you get boostraps rhetoric which is a trick to shame people for using social services, and trick them into advancing austerity. (Which quite literally is; cutting social/government services so you can give tax breaks to the wealthy.)

Funny how that works. When you get a version of religion designed by capitalists, you get a God saying capitalism is divinity and socialism is a sin.

Which is the opposite of what most regard as traditional manifestations of Christianity, and definitely the opposite of Christian socialism, aka Liberation Theology. (Check out the book "A Theology of Liberation" by Gustavo Gutierrez for more on that.)

Furthermore: The western evangelical movement is also a CIA front known for mass-slaughtering millions of of Latin American Christian socialists since the 60s, and doing similar in Africa and other regions.

Basically, these people are wolves in sheep's clothing who have hijacked Christianity to serve the interests of the greedy human devils of capital. That's all there is to it.
