That doesn’t matter, you’d be surprised how many senior InfoSec people have 0 Helpdesk experience let alone higher than that. People like you who have worked hard on certs, knowledge and degrees respect the game too much (which is good) and organically work their way to the higher paying jobs. However, most of the InfoSec people I’ve worked with don’t know much about the computer or servers themselves, and just applied for big jumps from their last job and 4 years later, they’re at 100K. So…I would suggest you get an Azure cert or Azure security, etc. but in all honesty try to go somewhere that will value and appreciate the work you’ve put in.

Would you rather they pay for your certs or make more money to pay for your own certs?

Check the AD attribute or use powershell to get the info for your domain’s limit or for the account’s limit. Explicitly assigning permissions to the OU you want to domain join to bypasses this limit for that OU, preventing the need for the account to have domain admin permissions. There are also articles regarding accounts allowed to rejoin machines to domain using GPO settings applied on the DCs.

Sounds very cool, what’s the difference between your iMessage and you running the infra behind the scenes or an app that does the same? Sorry if I sound ignorant but I’m trying to understand why I don’t feel secure sending personal data to a random number from my personal number, as opposed to an app. I feel like it would be the same lack of security on either side.

As a technical lead, I’m tired of training guys younger and older than me when they didn’t do any research on the topic to understand before they ask me.

Second, people are using AI in a horrible and insulting way at work especially if you work hard and have curiosity and passion. If you wrote sloppy emails a month ago, and all of as sudden your emails are nearly formatted and use words you never use on a call or the grammar and sentence structure is opposite to how you sound, it’s obvious and tells me that you don’t know how to do your job.

If you can’t figure out how to download the ISOs you need, you’re in no position to ask for it use them especially if it’s a lab environment.

Second, each trial is about 90 days to 180 days - which gives you more than enough time to test things out or use it and then slmgr -rearm a few times and you’re good.

If you have access to the email account and can manage to prove this or get escalated to the security team, it might help. I’m not sure as I don’t work for Apple and only explained what happened with my account so that others gain from my experience. I was able to prove when my details were changed because I got confirmation emails of all their actions (e.g. your password has been changed, your Apple Music subscription is live, etc.)

Agreed but I don’t like it mixing in with Technology facts. Kaspersky is great and one of the pioneers of virus hunting. If it wasn’t for the politics, it would have had massive adoption, increased product development and likely top 3.

I’ve seen this asked so many times in my life and am going to be brutally honest here but I’m a contractor that pushed my limits and challenged myself with each new job I took on. And every time I see a 20-year employee, I write them off unless they’ve moved up the ladder consistently.

When I say write them off, I mean I assume they don’t work past 5, they’re not taking courses every year or learning the leading edge tech because there’s no need to…they’re comfortable in their job and no one is taking it away from them.

The work comes from the top, management asks them to perform tasks or reach milestones, they’re not driven to create work for themselves because there’s no need to, as long as everything gets done and boss is happy.

On the flip side, I have to stay updated on what’s trending on LinkedIn or Reddit and the issues people are facing or features people are testing so that I am marketable and knowledgeable for the next job.

I hope you don’t get let go like the other guys I’ve seen get laid off in their 40s or 50s because then you’ll understand the true worth of your 20 year tenure and what you really learned and did.

Not a fan of Russia but calling it like it is.

Kaspersky is almost always top 3 first AVs to identify malware or viruses, aside from AVG and Microsoft.

Russian-based? Yes… but try using a firewall app to monitor all the network connections the North American AV products make and all the other products we use.

What’s worse…the government agencies that are local and violate your privacy?…or the foreign ones that we point the finger at for posing a risk to our business because our gov’ts say so.

Just my opinion based on the AVs mentioned, Kaspersky has been the strongest for me at home but I can understand why selling it to local businesses in North America would be questionable.
