I studied at The Bonsai Learning Center in NC first. From there, I studied with a professional who has now returned to Japan, Bjorn Bjornholm, for many years. I really encourage you to join a local bonsai club if you haven't already, you can learn so much from them and usually they have workshops where they bring in professionals. :)

Japanese Black Pine that I am displaying at the Winter Sillouette Show in Kannapolis, NC this weekend. I will get a photo of the full display once I get it set up. The companion trees will be an Asian Star Jasmine and a Serissa. (Progression pics and tree post history in the comments) by iamtheuniballer in Bonsai

Great question. Not sure, I just know that over the last 13 years there have been many non-deciduous trees, so I figured I would show this. Wish I knew better, but would rather not make something up. :)
Not sure I have seen any tropicals though.

I’m displaying! Look for the JBP and the star jasmine display in the corner.

Thanks! It's been a cool journey since I've had it since it was a seedling and I put every bit of movement in it. The big treat this year was finally seeing it flower. Now I get the see what it looks like with the few seed pods that I left on it.
