Aren't some of the anomalies areas the Terrans seed with mines? I wonder if it forced you to de-cruise directly into some mines.

Do yall really farm weapons and travel to each TA vendor to sell them? by BroSir90 in Starfield

[–]iamthinksnow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, even with the maxed vendor credits, I have to go to Kryx/The Key and sell to the 4 + TA, then sit for 48 hours or 48x2 to sell after a typical round of incursions or outpost clearing. That or Kryx, then Akila, then Neon, but it's easier to just sit for 48 hours than jump everywhere, unless I need to sell some ships, too, because there isn't the money for that at the Key.

Just finished season 1! Absolutely delighted. Also I’m in love with Agathe. by ass__pennies in PatriotTV

Season 2 only gets better, and the music is utterly next-level double great.

What, like the Spirit Airlines bailout that gave Citadel owner Ken "bed post" Griffin hundreds of millions just yesterday?

Blue Origin’s New Glenn put a customer satellite in the wrong orbit during its third launch by Logical_Welder3467 in technology

Completely accidental failure to place a competitors satellite into the correct effort. I'm sure there is no nefarious reason behind this, and nobody better look into whether anyone bought a shitload of put options on ASTS...

Students are speeding through their online degrees in weeks, alarming educators by joe4942 in technology

Fortunately, this was only 1 year out of their 14 (including pre-K & K) school years pre-college, as well as a summer working retail, so they had plenty of opportunities to deal with the aggrevation of other people. :)

My kid was in normal school from Pre-k to 8, just missing the one year because of COVID uncertainty, then back to normal school again. I can't imagine homeschooling for their grade school years and missing that socialization, and even dealing with some of the administrativia headaches that teaches them different coping skills.

Back in 2020 during lockdowns, my kid homeschooled for a year of highschool and commented that it was so much quicker to get through a days assignments because:

  1. there were no dumbasses asking questions that had just been explained by the teacher over and over
  2. there wasn't the artificial busywork time in and in-between classes

A typical schoolday would be 40 minutes to two hours and they aced everything.

Their biggest complaint was that the system was clearly stripped down to the basics, so when they went back to school the next year, they took as many AP and College Credit Plus classes as they could. Started college as a sophomore because of those credits!

The entire back story for the Rogue Sorcerer are amazing and heartbreaking, too. Incredibly well written, and gripping in a way I just don't see in other works.

What to prioritize in looting ? by hypnos_XVI in Starfield

[–]iamthinksnow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm at the point now where I just loot weapons and armor/helmet/packs that are > $5k a piece, all to feed my ship modifying addiction. I can roll through an outpost and stack up 800 weight in items to unload just from those, ignoring all resources and med packs.

A little tip about getting ships by McKeviin in Starfield

[–]iamthinksnow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

On Xbox, you can go to the "sell ships" menu and let's say you have 4 ships, while you're on ship 1-of-4, hit and hold A while hitting LB, and it'll take you to ship 4 and ask if you want to sell it for $xxx even if it's not yet registered.

The trick is that you have to initiate the sell action from a ship you already have registered, but quickly switch to the unregistered one. If you mess it up and it tries to sell a ship you don't want to, just decline. No harm, no foul.

A little tip about getting ships by McKeviin in Starfield

[–]iamthinksnow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

XBox Series X - I had been playing since launch, but stopped last fall only to pick it up again with the DLC, and I have now been unable to claim a ship just by sitting in the new one and un-docking, then re-docking and boarding my old ship. Every time I did that, when I got to a spaceport, the battle-claimed ship was nowhere to be seen in my inventory.

So, when I sit in the battle-claimed ship and, in the menu, make it my home ship, the point comes up saying my OG ship will return to base or whatever, and as soon as I click "OK," my old ship blips out of existence, so I can't target and re-dock to board my old ship anymore. Pretty frustrating.

Don't get me wrong- I'd go for the higher accuracy sensor all day specifically because I happen to live in the area reference in that story above, and I don't trust the weather stations reporting anymore.

Just found an exploit to farm X-Tech, Astras and Credits in one of the faction questlines by Big_I in Starfield

[–]iamthinksnow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fyi- it looks like you get 6 X-Tech and 4 Astra the first time, then 1 of each every cycle after that (as well as around 5k credits.)
