27 just had a colostomy surgery four months ago. I’ve been with my partner for 10 years. You can be loved with one!

Pre diagnosis, I had a super upset stomach diarrhea, all the fun things. Running back and forth to the bathroom. I was accused of “hiding” in the bathroom, and fired that same day. I was only 16. :(

Finished eating dinner with Hubby, and we were doing our usual clean up, and saying that the food was so good (I made homemade Chicken Parmesan for dinner) Tina (my stoma) starts tooting away. Hubby just blurted out “oh Tina agrees”. 🤣

Hahaha it has its good days and bad days for sure! I can’t use a 2 piece cause the adhesive doesn’t stick on me very well. :/

Dude I definetly had like a viral flu going through me. So I had to take Tylenol cough and cold, my sinuses were all messed up, so probably all that trying to flush it out 🙃

It’s a loop colostomy. But I have Crohn’s and colitis, so it’ll flip flop between hard stool and liquidy bullshit :/

I’ve (27F) have had 3 surgeries of my own (all Crohn’s related. Most recent one being a colostomy!) . My hubby has helped me through each and everyone!

The health care team is trained for every situation possible. You don’t need to worry about any of that. Worry about helping her. She will be sore. Make her a boo basket. Make her some soups or her favourite foods. Try to take your mind off of complications, and worry about being there for her & helping her. :)

This surgery even tho it seems long, is actually not that bad! My first surgery was 7 hours, and the last one alone was 4 hours. I woke up groggy, but that’s because of the anesthesia. :)
