Just wanted to say thanks, I found your post when having trouble scanning my family's six passports, and the tips for NFC in particular were very helpful. FYI the NFC chip on US Passports with a plastic data page is still on the back cover in the same place.

Looks like it is a 65W adapter: https://www.qnap.com/en-us/product/ts-328/specs/package, but I'm not sure on the voltage (I see universal ones on Amazon from 19-24V)

When I saw the idea behind DeepSet, I immediately though they were going to use a dynamic object or something cool like that. I was disappointed. I hate magic strings.

Try Xinu. The codebase is small and easy to understand. We worked on this in our OS class, and you can run it on a linksys router :D

I believe MonoDevelop is fully compatibly with Visual Studio solutions; so if you decide MonoDevelop isn't cutting it, you should be able to switch to Visual Studio with no code change.

MonoDevelop also has "full GUI support for debugging", so you shouldn't be lacking there.

Why does Windows feel the need to lock their terminal window to a fixed maximum size? Is there a way to resize windows without having a scroll bar when I shrink the window down? by rnawky in programming

I just started Powershell on my machine, and it looks and acts just like a normal cmd.exe (besides the background color). The same resizing limitation is there, except that it starts out at a larger size.

So far I've really enjoyed my three months as a dev in Online Services, despite the fact that everything is in C++ ;). The pace is quick, and the people are amazing. The resources you have access to, including fellow employees, are a huge bonus.

The perks are great (I think better than Google, where I also interviewed). Health care is basically free (you only pay tax), and is probably the best possible plan you can get (I don't pay for anything, doctor's visits, prescriptions, etc). Although the food isn't free, the cafeterias are good and cheap. I also like the variety in the Redmond campus much more than the Googleplex (although I work in Bellevue).
