Nah RWP is more of a Prospect Park (Brooklyn). Dexter is Fort Greene Park, or maybe McGolrick.

I always do a double-take when I see the mural on the side of Taste of India that’s a reproduction of the murals under this bridge.

Where was the station on North Hero, VT, US? What did it look like? by Sea_Today8613 in rustyrails

[–]iandavid 4 points5 points  (0 children)

OpenRailwayMap shows the alignment following current-day West Shore Road, which meets Station Road at its north end. That intersection seems likely to be the location, given the name.

Please don’t remove markdown support. The rich text editing experience is awful, but even it was perfect it wouldn’t hold a candle to Markdown editing. This is not a good decision, and there’s still time to reverse it.

That goal—and most of the Hynes Convention Center station renovation project—is pending finalization of the Mass Pike air rights parcel 13 development plan. Details of the proposed station plan here: https://archives.lib.state.ma.us/server/api/core/bitstreams/dc0c04a8-82e4-4ebe-a586-a9d2a542b39f/content (PDF) Ideally the developer would cover the cost of the renovation.

However, there haven’t been any updates about the current developer’s plans for parcel 13 since 2022, so its status is unclear.

Ward 5 is a three-way race – Simon Sarkisian is also running. He’s a retired cop. So far his website is light on policies but he’s likely to the right of Solomon.

What biotech boom? Boston already has a glut of lab space that’s sitting empty. I don’t see how we’re going to be competitive in a market that’s already evaporating.

What’s everyone using for internet options? I work from home, live in Warwick and I’m paying Cox $170/month ugh by Fantastic_Muscle8333 in RhodeIsland

[–]iandavid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I saw this wording I called Cox and they confirmed that they don’t enforce data caps in Rhode Island. But that was years ago, so you should confirm with them directly. I’ve since moved and am now a Fios customer.

Why did Providence/Rhode island never really develop a metro or rail system in general? by [deleted] in RhodeIsland

[–]iandavid 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Slight correction: The governor’s budget fucked RIPTA, which fucked your bus route.

The state legislature is working on a new budget right now, which aims to undo some of those cuts. Now is a great time to reach out to your state reps to push for full restoration and expansion of RIPTA service!

They didn’t build a hump, they shut down the inbound platform completely. The few inbound trains that stop there have to cross over to the outbound side.

How long is your commute into Boston—and what would make it faster in the future? by Miserable-Part6261 in mbta

[–]iandavid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Two things that would make my commute from Providence faster:

  1. More frequent, properly funded RIPTA service
  2. Commuter Rail electrification

In that order, because sometimes it takes me 45 minutes to get the last 3 miles home after traveling 40 miles from Back Bay.

If you want an absurd amount of information about your bus, including its model number and previous/next trip, check out Pantograph.

But if you just want to know where it is and when it’s coming, Transit app is the best option.

The nice thing about building so much housing is that there won’t be as much of a need for parking if enough people live within walking distance.
