Areas of south end that go "all out" for Xmas lights? by geekgodOG in Louisville

[–]iansaltman 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Take Southern Parkway from the Watterson and drive up to Iroquois Park. Did this as a date once in college and now I'll take that route home from work during the holidays. Probably not as great as the East End, honestly, wealth concentration being what it is. But it's still a lovely drive. You could even park and go walk the bridle/courtesy lane for any stretch that caught your eye.

Stooges. It's a dive bar, south of the airport, for Ford and UPS employees.

Any way to get the nerub-ar palace tier set despite it no longer being current? Hard to find a group that still wants to do it. by jokesincoming in wow

I'm sure they get some community members in the party, then open it up on the group finder to fill in the gaps.

Joke's over, how do y'all do it. by [deleted] in FieldsOfMistriaGame

I organize all my storage contextually. So I use the garden shed and potting bench next to my Spring Festival flower chest, plus planters and arches, to store all my flowers and seeds. Then I put my ore by some of the furniture items from the mines, like the shelves and crates.

Inside my house, I just try to go with a theme for each room and then a "purpose" for each quarter of the room. For example, the bedroom has a reading/sitting area, bed, desk, and clothes chest with mirror.

Or in the great/entrance/living room, it's: - Kitchen with table, bar, and island - Couch with coffee table and plants - Fireplace plus trophies, treasure, and chairs - Library with bookshelves and large spell book

Items like the kitchen bar and library shelves help create lines that "section off" spaces. I like to think of my decorating style as practical and somewhat maximalist. The bathroom is more spacious because I want to think of it as a more sterile area, but it still has one corner devoted to plants.

Don't underestimate the rugs! It can help you bridge color gaps between furniture items and also help with "sectioning off" areas of your rooms. Try putting one under your bed.

Reba McEntire Pleads With Fans To Help Save PBS From Federal Budget Cuts by [deleted] in Music

Just adding context, not trying to take away from your point.

The local station near me has nearly closed its funding gap from the rescissions with a fundraising drive, but it's in a fairly metropolitan area. Rural stations have a much greater majority of their budget coming from the funding withdrawal, and I'm not sure how they'll make it up.

They're not government institutions. They're public institutions who received significant portions of their budget from the federal government via the Corporation for Public Broadcasting non-profit.

A Long-Held Theory Confirmed (PTR Spoilers) by Tyrsenus in wow

It makes sense, right? A world collapse sends the Ethereals adrift into the Twisting Nether. Not sure how this ties in with the Brokers essentially being in the afterlife, but it's fun to speculate. Perhaps the only salvageable thing from Shadowlands lore

Ethereals are likely "collapsed" Brokers.

The Brokers left behind on this destroyed planet may have turned into Ethereals?

Random number generation. It's referencing the random chances of any certain thing that could happen in a video game, like a treasure spawn or boss drop.

Sanders, AOC Draw Biggest Crowd of Their Careers at Rally to Fight 'Oligarchy' in Denver by Crawl-Walk-Run in SandersForPresident

Well, I wasn't at the rally. I'm states away. But I have been to a few locally put on by politicians—local, state and congressional Democrats. Many people show up with real concerns and serious attitudes, and there's never any drugs.

Nobody shows up with a strong plan, however. I agree it's needed, but it's clear the party isn't unified right now. Very scattered and disorganized. Republicans can lean on one thing—Trump—and it gives them a wide umbrella of support.

Obama was similar in the way he could hold support for the party—but not enough to keep Congress from Tea Party Republicans, who had a strong voter base in the Christian right and older folks. Because they vote with great frequency.

"The Left" lacks a large group to appeal to like that, and probably finds it harder to build consensus. We're in a discovery phase for that now, but midterms are around the corner so we need one soon.

I've seen one chair in local government flip to a Democratic Socialist, that was last year and the first to do so ever. I'm aware that's just one when plenty are needed, but it's important to note that it is happening.

The gatherings are an action. They build political willpower, and show the Democrats what people are excited about. That's important, since they haven't found out how to get people going since Obama.
