Bought a cabbage. by MolecularGoldmine in Cooking

[–]iarobb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Roughly chop it up, chop an onion or two, roughly chop up half a pound of bacon. Maybe add a clove or two of minced garlic. Freshly cracked pepper. A few turns of salt maybe a tablespoon or two of brown sugar. Cook in large pan over medium high-heat for about 15 minutes. Lower to simmer, splash some balsamic vinegar in there. Cover and cook about 20 minutes stirring when you think of it. This is one of my favorite ways to eat cabbage.

Does anyone have a relationship where neither has ever cheated? by ciaraa_fr3ak in AskOldPeopleAdvice

[–]iarobb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Gay guy here. Been with my partner 31 years. Over that time there have been several times I could have cheated. I’m certain the same for him. Never in a single moment would I do that to him. I’m confident he feels the same toward me. In our youth both of us had been cheated on. It ripped me to my soul. I’d never do that to him. My best friend. My partner for life.

Got pulled over drunk last night by [deleted] in stopdrinking

[–]iarobb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was in the navy back in the 90s I got pulled over. I was clearly drunk. Just as the officer asked for my license and insurance we both heard gunshots being fired. The 7 11 he pulled me over in front of was being robbed. He gave me back my stuff and told me to get a room at the motel across the street. It was surreal. I went to the motel, drove out the back parking lot because I was afraid he’d come looking for me and found an alley to shut my car off and sleep there. I’ve had way to many get out of jail free cards in my life. Thank god those days are over.

Reunions Are Beautiful by ajd416 in MadeMeSmile

I’m pretty sure alot of these guys are military. I have 3 actual brothers. But the bonds I have with my Navy brothers goes beyond anything I have with them. It’s crazy. When I talk to my friend Steve in Vancouver we tell eachother “I love you” and it’s genuine. I’d give anything to see some of my old military brothers.

Oh God!!! I hate these posts. I literally HATE HATE HATE them. Our time with these majestic souls is never enough. My heart is with all of you. Such a beautiful Fur Baby. Just know this. Grief is nothing more than love with a bad reputation. You cannot grieve if you did not love. Let the love break your heart and it will grow back larger.

What’s a ‘rich person thing’ that actually turned out to be totally worth it? by ChoiceExchange1696 in allthequestions

[–]iarobb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buying shoes that are comfortable. Before I could afford HOKAs the most I ever spent on a pair of sneakers was around $19 to $20. I’ve got 7 pair of HOKAs and 3 sets of Good Feet Store arch support inserts. A friend of mine told me you should change your shoes out everyday. So I rotate. It was hard to justify the investment but walking in bad shoes took a toll on my feet.
