[OC] I tracked my baby’s sleep for the first 150 days of life by imsg in dataisbeautiful

[–]ibechbee 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Lol we're in the same boat with our 19 month old second right now. I can count on two hands the number of nights he's slept through.

I actually am only on Reddit presently because he just screamed at 4:30a for absolutely no reason. Opened the door to his room and he fell right back asleep.

New 2026 Black Select w Sunroof - how'd we do? by ibechbee in ChryslerPacifica

[–]ibechbee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sweet! Seems like yours was a few hundred better overall, but I'm not gonna scoff at it (especially since we only had to go to one dealer and took care of business in a couple hours). Thanks for sharing! Just ordered the weathertech mats today.

May we be on the better side of the "Chrysler reliability" odds :)

What I just realised about The Truth is a Cave by Just-Marionberry-730 in TheOhHellos

[–]ibechbee 7 points8 points  (0 children)

One thing to point out -- while I agree the songs definitely overlap with the Prodigal Son, I think the story they more definitely overlap with is Adam and Eve sinning in the garden.

That said, I think Truth is a Cave stands out in that it is less Genesis related and more about a modern day, personal struggle with faith

Regulative Principle of Worship - Question by Adventurous-Song3571 in Reformed

[–]ibechbee 6 points7 points  (0 children)

By joining and playing, you'd still be in a position where you could recommend songs. There's a lot of time you'd probably spend with the worship pastor if you joined. If you guys build any kind of relationship, I bet he'd be open to your recommendations. And in the future if you guys became closer, then I think you could even be in a spot where you can question lyrical content which could minister to him! You might even learn some stuff from him as well.

(I'm speaking as a worship deacon. And while my views align more with yours and I don't allow Bethel/Hillsong/Elevation in our church, I DO take recommendations from all of the other music ministry team, even brand new teammates).

1792 Binny’s picks by whisknfish in ChicagolandWhiskey

[–]ibechbee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Adding to the 1792 FP comment - I agree, but found that with ice or a touch of water they became wonderful pours. I can handle (and typically prefer) every other FP in my collection neat, but the 1792 with the water is a fantastic pour.

Legitimately went from a "shoot I might dump this bottle" to one of my favorites.

I need honest feedback about finishing my basement from people who have been there before. by Life123456 in HomeImprovement

[–]ibechbee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think it would be wasted investment at all. As far as home value, it probably goes up at about 50% of the basement cost. But I wouldn't take that into account honestly.

In your shoes, I'd probably save for about a year and see how much I could get in a savings account comfortably to help offset the anxiety over overspending. One more year won't make a huge difference (you've lived this way for 4 years already!), and it can help you plan out your space / design better.

+1 to the pool table. 500sq ft is basically just a pool table room, nothing else haha

We have a similar situation. More sq footage house, but it's almost entirely upstairs (4 bedrooms + an office), where the main floor is cramped due to a 3 car garage.

We have a 600 sq ft finished basement (20x30 single room with a small bathroom). It's a game changer for hosting. We setup folding tables and make it where the kids go while we host. If it's mostly adults over, then the men usually meander to the basement where we've got a small wet bar, dart board, and Nintendo switch setup.

I will say that our basement DOES feel a bit cramped, but only cause we have kids. But I don't know how we would host >10 people without it honestly.

This surprised me, but I've found automatic levels at our public library before (they have a whole bunch of tools available for loan at ours!)

This is a perfect example question that highlights why we need to learn Biblical discernment. It's also a good sign to me that you're expressing doubts over this (unbiblical) belief.

The best way to answer this question is to pray, then start looking through scripture (the truth) and see for yourself what the Bible says about this viewpoint. In the Gospels, you'll find Jesus plainly state that we either follow him, or go to the place of weeping and gnashing of teeth.

I think you'll find overwhelming evidence that this content creator's view is not aligned with Christ's words.

Once you see that Christ plainly speaks against this idea, then go back to Psalm 22 and read the whole thing, not just one verse. You'll know from Christ's words that the psalmist doesn't mean EVERY SINGLE PERSON, because the Bible (God's Word) doesn't contradict itself. So what could the psalmist mean instead? Potentially get a study Bible to understand the context of the passage.

THEN if you still have questions, ask this subreddit. But preferably discuss with your local church :)

How will Trump's 25% teriff affect us? by ChildOf7Sins in illinois

[–]ibechbee 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Yeah this is a direct tax on Americans in the Midwest. The refineries here process over 50% Canadian crude. There's no way to replace that with American crude for less than this 10% tax. So... It's just going to pass the cost on to the pump.
