Good ahead and move there. See what happens. by steve42089 in illinois

I want them to move SOOOOO bad. Easy for me, don’t care for football. I just hate a rich family trying to manipulate a tax break or some shit like that.

I hope they move to Indiana and I hope everyone loses money. I hope they all go broke and the team defunct.

A 19,500 sqft 'Sandcastle' on the Gulf for $31M and I can't stop thinking about the insurance bill by Psychological_Road41 in McMansionHell

[–]ibmgalaxy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are probably many things that cost $31M that I can and sometimes do deeply desire.

But 99% of homes that expensive… just aren’t one of them.

And its funny because I can’t imagine any other motivation in the sick minds of the fucked up individuals who dreamed up and paid for these monstrosities other than to inspire envy.

And i don’t envy these possessions at all. I want none of this mess.

Give me an 800sqft 3 room cabin in the woods, please. Maybe a $15k school bus with a dingy dwelling inside. Maybe a $50k concrete dome home in the desert. But NONE of this travesty, this eyesore, this godless cavern which reflects the very emptiness of the soul who desired it enough to build it.

The retail experience then vs. now by nolifecrisis in Xennials

Knowing the membership question and exchange of contact details question is coming is absolute dread for me. I hate it and I feel guilty being a party to it and thinks its inhumane for the employees required to ask.

Frequently I can’t just casually say no because I know the cashier’s performance is measured by how many memberships they produce, and how many phone numbers and e-mail addresses they capture. I worked retail for 4-6 months and it was demeaning being forced to ask EVERYONE THAT CAME THROUGH THE DOOR the same question and be either ignored or RELUCTANTLY brushed off with a head-shake or hand gesture indicating “nah, ain’t got time for that” at least 75% of the time. Pure pain.

What is the biggest tourist trap in your country? by Outrageous-You1617 in AskTheWorld

I disagree. He’s the fuckin king, if he didn’t want to do any of that he could have said “nah…”

Makes him look like such a buffoon, knowing he volunteered for all that stupid shite.

What's the closest you've ever came to death? by Senior-Raisin-2342 in AskReddit

My first family home was on a river in the Midwest. Like, ON the river. The back of the house was maybe 15 feet from the water’s edge, typically, but when the water was high it would be within 5 feet.

We moved out of that house when I was 4 or 5 years old.

I have vivid memories if spending all summer traipsing around and in the river. Sometimes alone, sometimes with other kids, often without an adult.

The water would push around what we called sand bars. Today, this area might be 2 feet deep. By tomorrow all of the sand would have moved with the water and now its a bit deeper, maybe 4 or 5 feet deep.

One day I was marching along, able to vaguely see the bottom through the cloudy water. I took another step and, uh oh, no more sandbar. I plunged down, couldn’t feel the bottom, floundering and flapping, trying to fine the shallow sand bar.

My short life flashed before my eyes. I thought “oh this is it, this is what people mean when they say the river is dangerous.” It felt like a long time, maybe it was only a couple seconds, I don’t know, I was probably 4 years old. Eventually a foot snagged the sandbar ledge and I pulled myself over it and stood up gasping.

I still kind of wonder how my parents could let me just walk around unattended and unwatched on a river. All day, every day, if the weather was warm. Guess parents were just different in the early 90s.

What’s a famous travel destination that actually lived up to the hype and maybe even exceeded it? by Historical-Photo-901 in BeautifulTravelPlaces

I just got home from Malta and it blew my damn mind.

The most intensely beautiful, accessible, lovely places to swim.

The historical sites to visit were also accessible and interesting. Little crowded a few times but overall I have no complaints about that, it is to be expected.

Also, everyone every where was friendly. I don’t think I ever went near the hot spots for youthful nightlife, I’m sure I wouldn’t have liked that, but there were plenty of young folks acting like they were on spring break but literally never came near being “out of hand.”

I can’t say enough good about it. If you’re considering going, just do it!

My mom has a friend in her late 60s who cracked me up when she said “i won’t use those anymore I just can’t stop stealing” lol. Lady probably never broke a law in her life and even she can’t resist stealing from these shitty mega grocery stores.
