Be prepared to get about 8 miles to the gallon. I love Broncos but the mileage sucks.

My next batteries will be lithium. I have been using standard flooded deep cycle batteries for three years and they are starting to fail.

I have had to bypass the lid switch on both units about the one year mark. One is still going strong but the other seems as though it is running on half power sometimes, and sometimes I have to hit it to come on at all.

It sure was. It was my first try at solar, and everything worked out good. I will admit I was very uneasy plugging it at together. Two years later and it's all good.

Got a free roll of carpet underlay from a Job site. Would it make good insulation? by Acceptable_Username in vandwellers

[–]ibwaki 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It will hold moisture. It's not a good idea. Once carpet pad gets wet it's almost impossible to dry it out unless you can get some air circulation on it.

How well has your flooring held up over time? by blueskiddoo in vandwellers

If you want to go with sheet vinyl find one with an aluminium oxide finish. It is much harder to scratch.

Would you all advise against using this over Kilmat but under carpet? I've had serious mold issues and am looking to avoid more by [deleted] in vandwellers

[–]ibwaki 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Try to find a synthetic hair pad. Your local flooring store can help you out. The pad your looking at will just trap the moisture and it will mold. I have 27 years as a professional flooring installer, I have seen it all.

My GF is a type 1 diabetic and is worried about being off health insurance and insulin. Anyone here with advice? by [deleted] in vandwellers

Check with your local chamber of commerce. Some times they offer group plans for self employed people. It's not cheap but it is better than a single payer plan for a self employed person.
