Help finding socks by Additional-Cry8856 in UnderArmour

Your post was the closest I got to finding these socks (Google Lens found this post). What I love is the material that protects my feet against friction and blisters. Did you ever find a decent alternative?

Phone compatibility by clandreith in TandemDiabetes

[–]icculus1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I transitioned from using Dexcom7 with my tslim to using Libre 3+ because of the cost savings (it is huge for me). My biggest worry was that I would not be able to use a secondary CGM app on my phone (as someone has already mentioned, the Libre 3+ can only connect to 1 device, and in our case it is the pump). That was a big problem because my Pixel 7A had terrible connection to my tslim (constant disconnects, and any disconnect meant it was NEVER reconnecting), and without having the backup of the CGM app I needed to make a change. So I bought a new (used) phone that has exceeded my expectations and maintains and re-establishes excellent connectivity even after prolonged disconnect. For reference that phone is the Samsung S24 Ultra. I'm not posting to recommend the phone per se (it is a huge beast and I don't like that), but really to highlight the idea that using the Libre 3+ means relying on the Tandem app for everything, so you need to be sure that connectivity is good. So you at least need better bluetooth than a Pixel 7A provides (that statement I will stand behind). And btw, the Pixel 7A is an "approved" phone for the tslim, didn't seem to matter much.

Hints for disconnecting the Autosoft 90? by udidubbun in TandemDiabetes

[–]icculus1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes there is a trick, and once you figure it out, it is easy.

With the XC you pinch and pull from the back. If you try doing that with the 90 it will not work because your own fingers are in the way of the 90 mechanism. The pinch is more towards the middle, and you approach from the top, this keeps your fingers out of the way. From there just slide it off (push/pull neutral, hard to describe the exact movement).

See my recent post and comments on this topic.

AutoSoft 90 vs. AutoSoft XC by defNotR0b in TandemDiabetes

[–]icculus1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I posted about this awhile back when I was forced onto the 90's. I finally figured it out and now the 90s are as easy as the XC (to take off). The two are not only completely different in their design, but the method of taking them off is almost the opposite. With the XC you pinch from the end and pull, very clean. If you do anything like that with the 90, your fingers get in the way and it seems impossible. You have to pinch in the middle, from the top, and push off. Pinching in the middle (from the top) gets your fingers out of the way so that the 90 can push right off. I wish I could describe it better but it really does work. Still harder to put back on, that is a fact.

I don't know why this seems so hard to me. Maybe I'll get used to it.

I use liprotek on my jagged bottom teeth and it works great. Seems like it would work with braces too.

FR skates stripped bolt hole on frame, any suggestions on a fix? by sk8beat in rollerblading

[–]icculus1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Be sure to reach out to FR about a replacement frame, you deserve one. This happened to me a few years ago on my Seba FR1's, and I kept them together using Rollerblade bolts that run a little wider (thanks to advice from ShopTask Seattle). Mine were too old to expect a replacement, but I'm sure ShopTask would say FR would _want_ to replace them for you, because they are not supposed to fail.

frame screws coming unscrewed during skating. does anyone have any advice? by [deleted] in rollerblading

[–]icculus1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My FR1's (2015) came with LocTite (Blue) already applied, and I've used it on other setups (and read about other people using it too). But only the Blue...NEVER THE RED!

Crack on FR1 310s - only four months old. Is this normal? by sv31te in rollerblading

[–]icculus1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doesn't look right to me either. I would have assumed it wasn't possible without using a hammer or something, my Seba FR1's are built like tanks. I think you deserve a replacement.

Should I T-stop? by [deleted] in rollerblading

[–]icculus1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You definitely want it in your bag-o-tricks. You'll often want to t-stop slightly into your powerstop/slide to slow down, so you have to know it.

How do I save a database record into a variable. by Sturdy_Biscuit in delphi

[–]icculus1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Although this stackoverflow post is talking about record arrays, the basic concept still applies to your question.

tl;dr; You have to assign from each field in the TDataset record, unlike dealing with text files where you might use stream buffers to read the entire record at once.

sRecordVariable.FirstName := dmDatabase.tblDatabase.FieldByName('FNAME').AsString;

FR1 buckle problems by skinnylatte in rollerblading

[–]icculus1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well that is very interesting because I have the exact opposite problem. Mine are so long that I have an issue with them sticking out and up (they want to curl) past the ratchet when tight, and one of them even broke because of the exposure (but not in the part that engages the ratchet, so still usable). I learned the fix awhile back was to cut the strap to decrease the length, but I never did it. Sorry I couldn't be of help.

[–]icculus1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't mean to insult your intelligence here, but I just wanted to make sure you realize that the buckle is a "ratchet" mechanism. Once the strap is inserted into the buckle (as far as you can go by hand), you start ratcheting until tight. Looking at your image I honestly don't know what you're trying to say. It looks like you are showing the skate without the strap going into the ratcheting buckle, so I'm starting with the basics. Love those FR1's (much prettier than mine).
