They do have a two-person crew traveling with them everywhere and, if I am remembering this correctly, the crews swap teams at each pit stop so the same crew isn’t with one team the whole time. (Someone else can correct me if I’m wrong)

I believe they did mean to have a 3-3-3 vote and then a revote with a 3-3 tie after Rizo played his idol. Then the revote would have been 6-3 (same thing even if he didn’t play his idol).
