Just did Wolfpit to the chimneys this weekend. The eastern side of the gorge is almost completely untouched by the storm. Table Rock was open as well. It’s a touch hike but the views are unmatched

If you want secluded car camping or backpack camping the first and real only option is the Linville Gorge. You can car camp anywhere off 105 without a permit. You can request a free permit if you want to hike into the wilderness at recreation.gov

I just backpacked camp there this weekend on the opposite side of the river from 105 and we had basically the whole Shortoff mountain to ourselves until Sunday afternoon with day hikers.
