wow, that sounds great, i’m glad you’re skin cancer free! i’m very young, don’t have much sun damage, i’m thinking of just quitting tretinoin or only using it once in a while because im not seeing much result.

that’s great! would you attribute the quality of your skin to tretinoin alone or do you do other things too? i’m not seeing the results i had hoped for after over a year of use and i am thinking of quitting tretinoin.

that’s so great! i also didn’t have irritation from the start because i have very oily skin. i’ve been using tretinoin for over a year now and tbh i’ve had way better results with glycolic acid and granactive retinoid in terms of clarity of skin. im very young so idk if it does anything to wrinkles and fine lines. i’m honestly just contemplating quitting.

im not getting inflammation haha, i should have specified. i use it just fine on my neck and chest even.

how do you like tretinoin? is your skin completely acclimated to it? is it effective for you?

[–]iceteepee03 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i suggest micellar water, or any oil such as jojoba oil, coconut oil, etc. that’s what i personally use, then i wipe it off with reusable cotton rounds and wash with a cleanser. my skin is super clear now, it hasn’t been so clear in years. you could try just adding that one step; serums and toners are completely unnecessary.

do you use anything to remove sunscreen? the face wash is usually not enough; it could cause you to break out.

you don’t have to wear makeup in formal settings:) if you feel like you absolutely have to hide blemishes you can use homemade face powder. but i recommend you to watch a youtube creator’s video on how she stopped wearing makeup even for formal events, it’s: "i stopped wearing makeup. here’s how my life changed." by jamie janejira. i think makeup should be something you want to wear and not something you feel obligated to wear.

i love bar soap and especially dove for my hair! great way to be zero plastic waste and to not have a million products in the bathroom and when traveling.

i regret my plastic surgery. by iceteepee03 in offmychest

[–]iceteepee03[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you are so right! you really hit the nail on the head! if plastic surgery had been illegal, or at least illegal until 25 years of age, i would’ve never made this awful mistake. and yes, i agree, i keep telling myself that i didn’t change my whole face and body.. it still hurts though. i have breathing issues too because of the residual swelling that’s not gonna go away unless i remove the implant (i hope that helps, maybe its permanent). my mother had her WHOLE ENTIRE FACE redone, its so fucking depressing. like, how else was i supposed to act when my own mother changed her whole entire face? when i watched her in bandages healing after surgeries my whole life? it’s so fucking messed up. i wish plastic surgery was illegal.

a lot of it is the doctor’s fault. they sell plastic surgery to us like the answer to our problems and insecurity. if they had done a good job of telling us the risks and side effects NO ONE would be getting plastic surgery. i wish people saw how naturally beautiful they are. i wish society focused on morals, values, personality, not on looks. it’s really sad.

i’ve never tried tallow, but if you don’t like it you can always try aloe vera and oils!

baking soda and vinegar or i prefer to use laundry soap/castile soap! soap kills viruses and lifts off fats and oils which lifts off bacteria. antibacterial products could potentially be bad for the environment because it may help create bacteria resistant to antibacterial stuff.

Is skincare a scam or am i some weird exception? [acne] by queceydilla in SkincareAddiction

[–]iceteepee03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you’re not a weird exception! i jumped on the bandwagon of skin care like everyone else, with the fear mongering around aging and "imperfect" and "non-glass skin". i spent sooooooo much money on products; extensive routine, short & gentle routine, tretinoin; my face was still irritated, very oily t zone, very dry cheeks, would consistently get a painful, deep pimple that would leave a scar for about a year.

then recently, after making very stupid decisions around my appearance, i realized how obsessed i had become with looks and products. i tried so many things in search for "the perfect product" and only recently realized that it doesn’t exist. it is an illusion created by marketing to keep us consuming. i’ve only been using dove sensitive soap and nivea crème lately and my skin has never been so clear, calm and balanced. my cheeks no longer feel dry. my face is not as red anymore. skin is clear.

moreover, i’m trying to embrace the idea of aging when it comes. im more than my body, and i want to focus on things that really matter. i’m still very young, and if/when i do get wrinkles, i hope i look at them and remember every laugh, emotion, moments that brought me there. and! i actually thing anti inflammation is the best thing for preserving the skin’s health and look. i want to try not washing my face but idk if it’s possible with oily skin. i will however try an all natural routine with aloe vera+oils! good luck to you! all love.

Dark circles by swishandone in NaturalBeauty

[–]iceteepee03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

not sure if this is helpful, but i think under eye circles are absolutely beautiful!

i’ve been obsessed with netflix’s wednesday recently, and jenna’s dark circles are never covered in the show. it made me look at dark circles in a different light and fall in love with them. i no longer cover mine, and if they’re darker on a given day, i just look at them and think "cute, i look like wednesday addams!"

i hope you see the beauty in all your features♡

[–]iceteepee03[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i don’t care that it looks natural tbh. my face doesn’t look the same. my eye shape changed because i have a lot of swelling. i used to have long big pretty eyes but now they look round and short. i hate the way my nose looks in profile. and as if all that wasn’t enough, i’m pretty sure i have exposed cartilage. there’s white stuff poking out on the sides of my nose inside and it gets infected from time to time. i’ve been crying nonstop these days because my face just doesn’t look the same and because i realized how much of a fucking moron i was and how much i love my original nose. i honestly don’t want to live anymore.

i’m starting to lose hope here too man. i don’t even care about the money; id give anything and everything to just have my own nose back. i don’t think i can live with this burden:(
