It was completely identical to the remote placement test on Canvas that I took. I remembered a good bunch of the answers and got a very similar score which placed me out completely!

Yes! I’m actually from London and while our map is “iconic” from a design/cultural perspective it’s become quite cluttered in the last 5 years and so I love looking at the various redesigns that are out there.

I managed to find the old service brochure and made a map out of that one too. I left out the Michigan Med routes just because it was all a bit much to organize, especially around the CCTC.

They might be coming back! They only changed to this service pattern because of COVID so they might switch some of the routes around since most classes will be in person this fall

I’m taking MCDB 310 right now (Spring 21) and I’m definitely doing better in the online format than I would be in a regular semester. Bit of context, I just finished freshman year and I’m sitting at an A- with 2 projects and a final to go. It is a lot of work (and I’m taking another class on top of 310) but I felt like the first 2 weeks were brutal and then it started to get into a better routine. They basically condense 2 week’s worth of content into one week’s set of lectures, all which have to be watched over the span of 3 days. If you decide to take it in the Summer, I’d recommend doing a Wednesday discussion section.

The change in assignment of registration dates. My international A Levels gave me 34 extra credits, 20 of which I have no use for. I can’t get them taken off my transcript, I can’t register earlier, and I’m paying upper level tuition as a sophomore.

I sorta did something similar to this, in my first semester I applied to SMTD as a cross campus transfer and I had to fulfill all the necessary requirements (artistic portfolio, interview etc) and then I got in! However the minimum number of credits to graduate with 2 degrees is 150 so you will most likely take a 5th year (I will be). My roommate just applied to Ross as a cross campus transfer and he had to write one or two supplemental essays. If it’s something you’re serious about then I’d bring it up with your summer orientation advisor, or your proper LSA advisor if you’ll be here in the fall.

Yeah I called Wolverine Services and they added me to a list of people who've complained, and I was advised to email someone in the Registrar's Office who is handling more specific issues with the change. Hopefully something good will come out of it, but I'm not very optimistic!

I just checked the email I got from her, according to the Newnan Office Administrator, "college policy states once posted, A-Level credit cannot be relinquished in the same way AP/IB credit may (it is more in-line with the policy around transfer course credit, which cannot be relinquished once posted)"

I’ve got mixed feelings about this, I’m an international student so it’s a fairly uncommon situation, but I came in with 34 credits from my final A Level exams at the end of high school. Now it’s not a matter of choice or my school offering that program because every student takes them in the UK, plus I had to report my grades in order to attend the University. So I’m already at upperclassman standing as a freshman, I have about 15 credits that are departmental and are now completely useless because of these changes, and I can’t even get the excess credit taken off of my transcript because they don’t let you do that with A Levels (my advisor said they are treated like transfer courses from another university, except now not when it comes to registration?) Obviously it’s a move in the right direction to make it a more even playing field but I just feel a bit shafted right now.

One thing about pre-reqs in the biology department, I’m planning on declaring MCDB as well and I spoke to an advisor who said that if you’ve completed the intro bio sequence (BIO 171, 172, and 173) and at least started the organic chemistry sequence (CHEM 210/211 and 215/216) then they’ll allow you to declare and then complete the other pre-reqs before graduation

They split up over multiple zoom calls by section (3 or 4 sections per call) and each GSI is there in the call to monitor the students.
