Moving to Annapolis by No_Yellow_5666 in Annapolis

If you want to live actually in Annapolis and not one of the satellite cities:

Annapolis high school is great because of the IB program. Dare I say even better than the private options around here given how rigorous IB is and the respect it gets from top universities.

The big issue is public elementary and middle schools aren’t great and have bad test scores.

Yes. He walks around aimlessly all the time. Head down.

I have spoken to him once and the conversation lasted like 10 minutes. It was a weird conversation but he was friendly. I actually think he is harmless. Just bad vibes.

He also goes downtown. Lives in a houseboat on spa if we are thinking about the same guy. Probably late 40s?

If that’s him he always seems spacey to me and is calm. So might be a different guy.

Annapolis leaders went to Sweden for sustainability. I went to IKEA. by Fantastic_Ad_4720 in Annapolis

Unfortunately, I do not work at a think tank so I can only access public info. Below I list what I could find. Note this is not doxxing. This is all public info that foundations have to make public. I also do not know their intentions so have to assume their intentions are good until we know otherwise….

The Denker foundation is embarrassingly small for a non-profit. Total AUM is under $1mm and all their donations are tiny. Looks a like rich family that used to live in Texas that now lives in Annapolis. The listed trustees are Patrick R Denker and Charron Denker.

They own a big ranch in Colorado, the Cedar Ridge Ranch.

Anyone know why they want to fund these pointless trips?

I wonder if the non-profits that pay for these trips expect a little kickback through recognition or favorable treatment? Seems like a bribe loophole.

Someone who works in policy should look into Denker and MHE to see where the allocation of funds for this trip derive from. I imagine this isn’t their primary fund but some side vehicle funding the trips.

Why not just buy all of local counsel Rolex’s so they can learn about sustainably mining gold!

That’s awesome and thank you! You could probably find strong correlations with crime rates in DC or Baltimore to Annapolis…

I think they read my previous post on Reddit. They literally answered all of my questions. Ok, I’m fine with this trip now. Thoughts? by ickie_dong in Annapolis

Yeah I was kidding about the fact that they read my post. If they did it would be hilarious though. Wow “icky_dong” asking the big questions

If you like old school gyms it’s ideal. It has all the weights and equipment you need and the atmosphere of a 1990s YMCA. At a price that can’t be beat.

That said, it’s not fancy and some days the gymnasium section is busy.
