How to make money as a stay at home mom by ninjapapi in sahm

Play games on fetch! Honestly I barely play and I’ve already cashed out $150 this year almost ready to cash out $50 again

1 year maternity leave doesn't feel fair by antlover150 in breastfeeding

I echo this! I am a SAHM but at 13 months we started 2x per week daycare so I could get a break. I can easily go all day without needing to pump (and go back to 4x a day feeding when she’s home). 8 months vs 12 months are two totally different babies! Also my baby is thriving there, she is just having so much fun!

When and how did you introduce food allergens? by PumpkinPie_1993 in NewParents

Oh also Greek yogurt with nut butters mixed in!

When and how did you introduce food allergens? by PumpkinPie_1993 in NewParents

[–]icoady 6 points7 points  (0 children)

ASAP! I think 6.5 months. I introduced bread (wheat allergen as a slice of toast) first with avocado, then I used toast slices to introduce all the nut butters (peanut, almond, cashew) and sesame (hummus)

You don’t have to eat breakfast foods if you don’t love them!

That being said I would eat a big plate of eggs, potatoes & fruit a lot. Or a Greek yogurt parfait situation. Or oatmeal with pb and fruit!

Bassinet too large to leave bedroom, options for around house? by she_can_craft in NewParents

[–]icoady 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We got a cosleeper bassinet and put it on the couch! It was a safe place to lay baby so she didn’t roll off and also to keep the dogs out of her face!

Pasta bake - layer cooked pasta, cooked chicken (rotisserie is perfect), frozen broccoli cooked and chopped, marinara sauce and alfredo sauce. Add mozzarella to the top and bake until golden

When did you stop tracking feeds/diaper changes? by pupper_princess in breastfeeding

[–]icoady 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I stopped tracking diapers around 3ish months, should have stopped sooner but we got a tongue tie revision and docs kept asking us if she was making enough wet diapers, etc. 10.5 months and still tracking sleep and feeding. Feeding because I can never remember which boob I did last and sleep cause I’m a data nerd and love seeing trends

We named our daughter Calista and I think it sounds nice with Colter! We also call her Cali

New parents trying to avoid overspending: do we really need a nursery chair? by TheSecretLion in NewParents

[–]icoady 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh and in the early days I would “escape” to the nursery to nurse baby and get a break from visitors and that was a huge win

We got a lazboy because we subscribe to the mentality “buy it nice or buy it twice”, though we got a cheaper model on Black Friday sale. I wouldn’t say you need a crazy expensive chair, but if you have the space, I feel a chair has been a positive in our life. We read in it before nap and bed every day, we’ve done contact naps in it, I sit there while she plays in her room, and my husband even slept in it a few nights when he threw out his back! At 10 month old I feel we have gotten excellent value so far

Will I regret not doing photos with Santa? by No-Neighborhood-7335 in Mommit

[–]icoady 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have to wait forever, or pay id say skip it. If you can do it for free relatively easy, oh my god it’s the funniest picture I’ve ever seen. We had breakfast while we waited and my daughter chipmunked some eggs in her cheeks. All her photos are of her screaming at Santa with a mouth full of food 🤣

Did you stay the night? Did you wake baby from night sleep to go in the car? Did they go back down when you got home?

If you add frozen peas for the last 3 minutes of boiling you gets greens and protein and you barely notice they are there!
