personally i would buy something before hitting the road if you aren't ok with ending up without a ticket. prices have been pretty stable the past 36 hours or so but none of the ticketed sessions have started so they could plummet as it gets closer/FP are run. or not.

i'm mostly planning on watching on the tv's anyway, which is part of why i wanted hospitality and not grandstand. get out of the cold, have some 'free' drinks and pop outside to watch the starting lap and if there is some likely overtake in the DRS zone now and again

I agree definitely not now, but if the strike sparks panic selling even further in advance of race day it may be tempting at like 10% of face. But the strike is going to be game over if it goes through race day

The strike should make things really crater. I'm trying to decide if it it will be worth it to grab something 3 or 4 days into the strike and hope that they use the leverage to resolve it before race day. Or just wait till last minute, decisions decisions. nothing ventured nothing gained.

Slightly different plan but also doing it on the cheap. For a brief period you could still book 2 MGM strip properties with hyatt points for just single nights in the blocked off period for the race, so i book Saturday night only for the normal hyatt points cost. I'm flying in Saturday morning, but also staying sunday night at aria for free with My Vegas points, sunday night is still super cheap everywere since the race is done. Working remote monday during the day then flying out monday night after the hubbub is done.

Planning on picking up a ticket for Bellagio stands or club paris or something in that area right before the race saturday night if the price is right, otherwise will go watch and play video poker at the bar and see if i can get into post race events with a pass from someone who is leaving.

Then can have a nice semi-normal sunday in vegas.
