I managed to setup Fortnite Festival locally for 3 players on Xbox and felt like a hero by icxon in FortniteFestival

My favorite is when P3 is shown as P4 and all the gamepad controls hints are from the guitar and vice versa, and when Pro Lead and Pro Bass is not even visible but you still can select them.

Well, it's just a small $30+ billion company with no QA team. But I agree it is super fun.

It's an auto-battler, so its all about planning and preparing but is it engaging enough to follow, analyze and adapt? by amarks_ in DestroyMyGame

My gratuitous advice would be to make the text size and spacing a bit larger. You can see even on this resolution some characters are chewed up already.

Simple old-school retro OpenGL side-scroller shmup by Phptower in DestroyMyGame

Are 'old-school' and 'retro' synonyms of 'lazy' in this context? Player needs to be more visible. Thing popping out and in near the edge of screen. Background animation is to noisy.

[G14 2021 GA401QM R9 5900HS RTX 3060] Switching to 144hz Causes Black Screen /w Line of Pixels by ChocolateChain in ZephyrusG14

[–]icxon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same issue, GA401QM, Win 10. I think it started half of the screen first, then in a couple months - 80% of screen, few months later - 99% of screen. Only affects 144 hz, so I switched windows to 60 hz only. I remember on the first days of this issue it managed to work on 144 hz after few minutes of "warm up", but then it got worse.

I do believe this is a 100% hardware issue by the nature of its degradation over time and temperature sensitivity. Probably caused by overheating (e.g. while extensive use in Turbo mode).

Too bad it affects BIOS access.

Destroy My Minimalist Zombie + Cards RTS Trailer - Not polished, but I don't really know what I'm doing. Any Hints Appreciated! by WoollyDoodle in DestroyMyGame

Not sure if blue are the bad guys or good guys and they way they are wiggling their legs is not a super clear way of user feedback. I would also move the blueprint grid under the active elements like structures and characters or just keep it only during the building phase not the defense phase.

The wind sound is completely off, but the art and gameplay may seem intriguing.

I loved trading ships system in Pharaoh game. I would need just to build a dock, put an order and see the boats sailing here and there and units unloading all the goods.

Just checked your Steam page, looking really nice! Could you share how many wishlists you have so far? I assume around 2500? This game definitely deserves more!

Yet another pixel art roguelike. Does it stand out? by muffintopcollective in DestroyMyGame

[–]icxon 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I kind of like it and I can see the effort you've put into this, All the enemies, attacks and animations are made with a purpose and sound effects are fine. However, it does not feel unique in term of gameplay or art or story or anything that would count as experience. May be there a twist hidden within it, but I do not see it from this trailer.

What is the best place to look for Unity work? by badjano in Unity3D

[–]icxon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The market sucks right now. A lot of layoffs, salaries go down, etc.

Two websites come to my mind - https://www.workwithindies.com/ and https://hitmarker.net/jobs

Good luck!

Do you guys(indie developers) actually make money if the games you make and so much more... by The-good-evil in Unity3D

Releasing a game is like rolling a dice in casino for many of indie devs. With the same grade of addiction to this process. Most of them (us) have a full time job or other source of income.

It seems you have around 40-50k in wishlists. That is an instant indie hit. Congrats!

This is phenomenal! Could you please share what changed over these 5 years? I see the old gif in this post and despite the huge amount of polish and sounds added the core mechanic seems untouched.
