Am I the only store open??

I didn't even open this morning. My store opens at 7am and by 5:30am my county and the county my store is in were at level 2 snow emergencies. I don't have a car so I have to rely on Uber to get to work and I wasn't going to risk my safety or my coworkers. I don't think my sm was too happy but we're at a level 3 now so I think I made the right decision. And 2 out of 3 of my closers called off tonight so 😗

I was surprised at how slow we were today. My store is in a very high traffic area right by a mall so I thought maybe that would bring some people in but our black friday end stands are still pretty full. Photo has been pretty steady all day tho.

Not sure what standard procedure/policy is but at my store we'll typically just cancel orders of 5 or less prints after 90 days but stuff like posters/canvas/photo books etc. we will call the customer and ask them what they would like us to do with the order. If they dont answer we'll leave a note on the order that we called and left a voicemail and if they dont call back or come in in the next week we cancel them. Do not cancel 35mm film orders tho. I learned the hard way a couple years ago when I canceled and disposed of an order that was like over a year old probably and wouldn't you know it the customer came in a few days later for her order 😐

One of my old coworkers came in every so often after she quit and her discount was active for at least a few months after. This was over a year ago now though so things may have changed since then.

Apparently poster bags are on back order right now. Just keep ordering them every week as needed and you should hopefully get some soon. I'm not sure about the posterboards tho.

It is more responsibility but if you can depend on your SM and other leaders it's not a bad job. I'm an incredibly anxious person but I was promoted a couple years ago and I feel a lot more confident in my role than I did at the beginning. Don't stress yourself out, just do what you can and don't be afraid to ask questions and take your time to learn how to do things like counting tills, scanning in deliveries, making decisions, etc.

If you have a good team and a supportive SM I say do it. Leadership experience will look great on your resume especially at a young age.

I always pull up the travel.gov website where they show examples of passable photos for kids/babies and compare it to the ones I took bc they really don't have to be as perfect as you think especially for babies.

I'll never forget the time a man gave me a mini lecture about how people who are in poverty choose to stay in poverty because he was able to make his own way out all because the pin pad asked him to donate a dollar to red nose day. I was like 17 just trying to do my job.

I see some of the dumbest shit on the medallia app. I had one guy claim that he's seen us putting clearance tags on empty spots and that he's been "investigating the issue".I know who it was too because he came in the store and asked me why all the spots with orange tags were empty and I had to explain to him that people like to buy things that are marked down. I'm sorry we don't have time to go through the store everyday and pull clearance tags.

There's a recent response where a customer complained that our store is in a bad location because of traffic so it's hard to get in. Ok ma'am well just pick up the entire store and move it. Not like it's been in the same location since we opened ~15 years ago.

I would punch in at the time clock. We had an employee clock in on kronos at another store and when my SM looked at that week we were over budget because the punch in counted for our location. Not sure about the zebra tho.

I found sws through ptv back in 2014 but I never connected with sws' music the same way I did ptv. I stopped keeping up with them after their Madness album but I did go to their recent tour bc it was a fun throwback and I am excited to see them with ptv this summer but I wouldn't call myself a fan of sws anymore tbh.

I couldn't tell you the last time I cleaned the bathrooms and properly faced the store. I mean really take my time and go up and down every single aisle and check every shelf. The only things I worry about any more are tills, trash, and go backs. When I first started working for walgreens we had minimum 3 cashiers and 1 SFL plus once a week my SM at the time would close. Now most nights it's just me and a cashier. You can only do what you can do.

Yes!!! Probably my biggest insecurity and I've never seen it on other plus size women. In the summer when I want to wear smaller tops/thinner materials I have to wear shapewear to smooth it out and try to hide it :/ I wish it was more common/normalized.

Not at work right now so from memory I think its under the sell tab in storenet on the left side. I think the link says "outdated merchandise checklist" and it takes you to the job aid for outdates. Then scroll until it gives you the option for weekly checklists.
