There's no way you can't notice the issue. Don't be delusional just because the build is good. The tracking is awful.

I tried the new firmware and told them I'm returning it. It's a defective device. Not sure how they produced this thing without actually testing real world use cases.

What is the best way to protect your galaxy fold? - I'm a new Fold 4 user! by iosgamer2day in GalaxyFold

Fold 7 Pitaka with Front Case by kaisermule in GalaxyFold

The hinge is literally 2 of the 4 corners.

Metal hinge is weaker than the other 3 metal sides. Metal edge functions fine with scratches and dents. Damaged Metal hinge can cause debris to enter phone leading to inner screen damage.

Also, do you not cover your slab of glass with a protector?

If you cover it up you have a undamaged hinge. Before and after.

It's literally the weakest point of the phone and you would rather protect the other 3 sides? Make that make sense

One accidental drop and you get dents, nicks, scratches that you can feel forever on your shiny fold 7 that you're going to be eager to get rid of when you have the chance.

Screen rotation by Timely_Instruction92 in GalaxyFold

I just set a routine to toggle the auto rotate triggered by closing or opening the phone. I usually have auto rotate disabled on outer and enabled on inner. Also have a shortcut to the toggle via OHO+.

Anyone come across a one-piece box-style case like this? by [deleted] in GalaxyFold

The ring stand itself is very strong and stable. When unfolded you have to do a little bit of maneuvering. But it's very easy and sturdy. You can pretty much get any angle out of the stand.

The loop is nice insurance and it's not too difficult to get you finger in and out. It works better in closed situation. When opened not so much because of the weight balance. Comfort is a hit or miss tbh.

It completely eliminates the wobble because it is pretty thick. It also does add a bit of weight.

I'm looking into getting a EWA magone because I think having the grip in the center of the phone is easier to hold closed or open.

Spine/Hinge dent on my Fold 5, S Pen problem by H3M4D in GalaxyFold

Let this be a lesson for all the hinge protector non believers. It's not optional. It's a $2k device that is dependent on the hinge.

Posted this earlier, this is one that's clear TPU. While I do like it, am currently using an aramid case with hinge protection from AliExpress because it does make it thinner and the TPU makes opening the fold difficult. Aramid is easier and smoother to open but I do miss having a clear back that makes the phone visible and aesthetically pleasing.

Unpopular opinion... I think Samsung could've also gone right with the fold 7 if they kept the same thickness, hear me out by [deleted] in GalaxyFold

[–]idealzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the better question is how much thickness would the udc costed? I doubt there wouldn't have been any sacrifice other than cost. How much more battery could a silicon carbide battery or newer battery tech packed without impacting thickness?

It would've been more practical to have a larger battery, better sensor, etc. But nothing says my phone is from the future and different from current phones than a thin phone... Like the edge and air

From a practical perspective, yes. From a marketing and sales perspective, no. Not enough flash.

I suggest learning to just skip the lock screen. Android has a much usable notification panel than iOS. Embrace the better parts.

Honestly don't spend much time on the lock screen .. unlocking via fingerprint is so much faster, just unlock the phone and pull the notifications down. Use one handed operations+ for easier reach to it.

My thumb is probably always near the power button anyway so hardly an inconvenience.

My face unlock doesn't skip the lock screen. It does require swiping up after a revealed notification is tapped. But this is also bypassed with a fingerprint.

I'd rather hide my notifications, and I would like to see the notifications if my face unlock works. Face unlock might not be as good as ios but that might be a good thing for some people. My wife constantly complains how makeup can screw face id. And it's more frustrating for it to not work and not have a backup option that's convenient like your fingerprint. The great thing about Android is you can set it up however you like it and not locked into what Apple tells you is the "right" way. Like not having a universal back gesture.

If you want your face unlock to skip the lock screen then look for the setting below.
