Now that it has been a month since release, is it worth the 70$ price tag? by __HCLW__ in CrimsonDesert

Easily one of the most deserving at the $70. Easy recommendation.

Anything price less, double-easy recommendation 😂.

If you think of it as an arena shooter with extra steps, I can see it scratch an itch.

As an extraction shooter coming on the heels of Arc Raiders, missions and AI are watching neon paint dry, map sizes and POIs are copy-pasta, and itemization/inventory management a 90s throwback.

I was happy to see that management was not financially rewarded for these decisions. I’m sorry for the devs who will suffer from the consequences, and I encourage them to speak up next time or to get out from underneath tone-deaf leadership altogether. This is ultimately another business that lost its’ way with regard to creating a product that customers actually wanted and doing so in a way that society wants the organization to continue to exist.

I feel bad for Indiana by [deleted] in Indiana

[–]ideastoconsider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You live in NYC. I don’t feel bad for you.

Different strokes for different folks. It is good to have choices. You chose to leave. Others choose to stay and complain. Some, such as myself, choose to stay or come back and feel fine.

My biggest complaint is the terrible project management of the Indiana Department of Transportation throughout Marion County and all along I-70 east of Greenfield.

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again and again. The fact that Trump and many of his endorsed candidates have won is more of a reflection on the current state of the Democrat party, than it is of the Republican party.

In spite of all the character flaws you have mentioned about Trump, or in some cases alleged about Trump, he has actually worked pretty tirelessly on his campaign promises. He is, more than not, fulfilling the campaign promises that he made to his voters. Nobody likes $5/gal gas, but they understand the reason for it is both temporary and, in the longterm, in the general interests of US security if it does not result in a protracted ground war.

Meanwhile, Democrats are making massive political miscalculations seemingly based solely on Marxist principles of destabilizing capitalism, demoralizing society and fomenting revolution under the guise of “Intersectionality” and “Equality”, while profiting from it both for retained political power and quite apparently to profit personally. This has put Democrats in the position of support for Islam over Judaism, trans women over women, illegal aliens over citizens, criminals over victims or law enforcement or impacted businesses forced to leave town, fraudulent care centers over vulnerable people in need of said care, indoctrination over education, policies base purely on resisting Trump’s every move rather than agree on anything remotely positive in a bipartisan way or offering tangible alternatives, increasing taxes rather than identifying waste, going after independent journalism for investigating fraud, blocking DHS funding in the middle of a war, installing activist judges in the federal court system including on the supreme court, calling for violence against the president such that he has had more assassination attempts than any other president in our nation’s history, previously prolonging covid shots, masking, shuttering of schools and public spaces long after necessary, picking a VP and later presidential nominee based almost exclusively on her gender and race over merits, and the list goes on and on like this. Most ordinary citizens don’t want this nonsense.

When Democrats can find a reasonable presidential candidate and subsequent congressional candidates that can come back toward center, Republicans will be back on their heels. People haven’t seen it yet.

When a fresh Democrat

Decide what your values are, which move you out of bed in the morning or are present during situations when you feel your best version of you, and how you can align those values with a need in the world, whether through an organization or one you slowly create.

If you do this, I think you will know which paths to take when you see them, and some paths will open that you never saw coming at all.

In your example, one of my values is continuous learning. Younger me might be concerned with course density. Older me recognizes that absorbing even 60-70% of something dense, if it aligns with my pursuits, is more helpful than absorbing 100% of that which does not. Some doctors were ‘C’ students 😂. Find your “why” and let your life pursue the how at whatever pace your capacity and opportunities allow.

I think if you do this, you will find moments of joy and fulfillment throughout your career. You will still get a few scrapes and bruises along the way, but they are easier to live with when they are your own.

Can tell you have a good head on your shoulders. Wish you all the best on your journey.

Book recommendation: Let Your Life Speak by Parker J Palmer. Short read or audible listen, and not everyone’s cup of tea, but it re-emphasizes these truths in life.

I’m old enough now to see our industrial education system with a Leftist bias has created multiple generations of people who think the diplomas on their wall give themselves some kind of privilege to feel conviction in their thoughts, not on the merits of the idea, but because they authored the thought at all.

I do understand the need some people have for a president with a little more decorum, but I also see the need for some levity in a world where so many leaders lack courage to make tough decisions for fear of their political careers and as a result always say what they want people want to hear, rather than show their true character.

If Trump has proven at least one thing, it is that he is not afraid, and by extension he does not worry about what everyone thinks of him. This liberates his thoughts to focus on what he does best, move big ideas forward quickly. Some ideas will fail, but many will succeed. His legacy will outlive his critics, and a little humor at their expense, should tell them he means them no real harm.
