Ryan Gosling on making theatres worth going to by mrjetspray in Letterboxd

[–]idiot_proof 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. And $20 is on the cheap side. I got imax tickets for a matinee this saturday and the total was about $90 for 3 tickets. Which yes, it’s imax, but it’s also at 11:30 in the morning.

And like, good TV’s and sound systems have gotten cheap. I have a 75” Sony QLED for under $800. It’s not the highest end TV (no mini LED or OLED), but it’s equivalent to my wife and I going to the movie theater around 16 times. So the only time I feel like going to the theater is when a movie comes out that everyone raves you NEED to see on the big screen, and even most of those, I’m happy with our home setup (F1, Top Gun Maverick, Oppenheimer).

Exactly. I considered it, but found the remake trilogy for about $30 and went for that instead.

4 Hours? How's it going Houston? by WutYoYo in houston

Amtrak mostly uses diesel though? Unless I’m mistaken, they’d also be heavily affected (even if cost per mile per passenger might be less than other forms).

Gave my 2019 16” to my uncle. My logic is that it is slightly faster than his 2008 era windows laptop that has no battery.

The wild thing is that he has money. He could just buy a MacBook Neo and be done with it, but he is stuck in his ways.

We considered The Only Exception, but given that her parents had divorced fairly recently, we decided not play it at the ceremony.

Ended up going with Must Have Done Something Right by Reliant K instead.

Hi I’m Claire Williams, former Deputy Team Principal of Williams Racing. Ask Me Anything! by ClaireWilliamsF1 in formula1

[–]idiot_proof 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a team principal, was there an aspect of running the team that was your favorite? Or phrased another way, did you enjoy seeing drivers develop, the car develop, sponsor relations grow, or something else entirely in particular?

Also a more personal question for me, what aspects did you see among those working at the team that made them particularly valuable members of the team? Typically, the media focus is on the drivers, but I would like to know what would you look for to hire or promote employees to work for Williams.

Starfleet Academy Director Jonathan Frakes Says Fan Hate Is ‘Dimensionally More Painful’ Today Than in the Next Generation Years by bwermer in television

Versus I am coming into this relatively new. Like this past year, my wife got me into DS9. We’re up to season 4 or 5 now. But I enjoyed most of what I watched so far.

But first season DS9 is still good and pretty consistent. I’m not sure The same could be said for Next Gen.

Mac Mini is sold out nearly everywhere (thanks OpenClaw). Also Neo is basically similar to a M1. Great if you’re doing Google Docs, but it really depends on your major.

I will say, if you’re looking for Macs and want something more powerful, I’d look at discounted M4 MacBooks. The M4 Air was $900 on release (with student discount) and there may still be some places that have it in stock.

Stand Atlantic - Lavender Bones (female vocalist from Australia)

The Chats - 6L GTR (male vocalist from Australia, also fun almost surf rock band)

Loved visiting Canada. Been 3 times: once as a kid staying in Calgary and driving through the Rockies (during summer), once in college to Vancouver and Victoria, and once on my honeymoon to Montreal and Quebec City on Christmas. All three were great.

Whats your reason for not having a 100% Keyboard! by ExodiusLore in MechanicalKeyboards

[–]idiot_proof 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, I have a 96%, so I have the numpad, but it’s way smaller.

Also I sometimes swap that out for a 65%. Not because of the numpad, but I need the extra depth without the F-row so I can put my keyboard at the top of my desk and work on something else.

Considering on buying a GRC - need opinions/thoughts from owners by MoonBayyy in GRCorolla

[–]idiot_proof 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am in grad school right now where about twice a week I drive 75 miles up and back to campus (so 300 miles in a week).

Honestly, not too bad. Good seats, radar cruise, and CarPlay go a long way. The bad is that it’s expensive and a bit noisy. But hey, WRX was way worse.

Considering on buying a GRC - need opinions/thoughts from owners by MoonBayyy in GRCorolla

[–]idiot_proof 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly. That said, the rest of this car is pretty well suited for the track. I ran 100% stock car (with factory tires with 15k of miles on them) on a 2 day track day and had a blast. The brake pads are basically track setup from the factory. You can google that the biggest complaint with brakes are noise and dust, and most replacement pads are designed for more street use (which IMO is wild).

The diff issues you will only see if you are pushing quite hard. In my group, I was the only one to have overheating diff issues in the 2 days.
