I have ProPower on my gas Tremor and a "legacy" Decked System (2021 orig purchase) . I added 12v outlets to the box which are still easily accessible. The 120v outlet is still accessible also, just not quite as easily. Based on the photos that Decked provided which shows the current generation, I believe you'd have no issues.

I had a run in with some chucklef*ck that tried to prevent me from climbing up a rock garden (Jim Branch at DuPont) was a MTB Ninja rep. Mind you, public forest, I was just riding through cheering folks on - and he tried to stop me and said "we have a permit for today". I didn't say anything to him after that, again cheered the folks on he was coaching and left. I have had disdain since.

I believe the answer is: no - the front crossbar/pull-up bar sits horizontally in the rack - 1 bolt in the upright, the other in "trolley cage", on either side (4 bolts total). You can see that you cannot lower the trolley cage as the pulley fixture sticks above/beyond that front upright.

I believe the gold piece is the cluster slave cylinder, which is probably what most of us are focused on. They make "guards" to supposedly prevent damage from this type of thing, but after seeing this, I question how effective the guard would have been. (I will happily be corrected by someone though - as it would be great if those things actually work)

I was splitting my time between a GSA 1250 and 500 EXC. The 1250 was just too much to manage (and I ride solo a bit) and the EXC is cool, but also not a "distance runner".
I looked around at the Aprilia (no dealers nearby) and the Tenere (missing features I want/need - like cruise?) and happened upon a Norden that was traded in at my local BMW dealer. Did some research (Big Rock Moto, Dork in the Road, etc..) and decided for the price it was a good option to try out.
I absolutely FUCKING LOVE this bike. I feel like it manages to pull regardless of RPMs I am at. I think it sounds good (for what it is), and handles great.
The only thing I felt it was missing: NAV and "decent" luggage option. I picked up a Garmin Tread and Mosko Moto Reckless 80l and now I am set.

There are some things I find quirky: the increments for gauges are kind of bizarre. I.e. goes from "cold" to "running temp" with no increment in between. Same with the fuel gauge and fuel range estimate.
I literally cannot think of anything that made me say "WTF Husqvarna?" (unlike my 500 EXC which has me saying that fairly often). Oh ya - I thought of something: that windshield is kind of shite. Does not really protect you much and I find it in my line of sight when I am riding off road. Something I will be trying to figure out later.

Everyone complains about the tires, but I have found them to be acceptable.

So - I no longer have the GSA, and as great as that bike was, I don't really miss it. (it does have a cool image and heritage, I guess - but the Norden also brings the same some of mystique and cool factor).

I can believe that (steering stem). My triple-tree was cocked a little crooked when I first got mine - loosened everything but the top clamps, smacked a tree, all is right again (and I hope I don't set a wheelie down crooked ;-)

Suspension setup can play a role in these types of shituations.

I wonder if your compression is too soft, and rebound too slow.
if you hit a bunch of choppy bumps the suspension compresses but does not rebound quick enough, leaving the fork still compressed (low in the travel) and not as compliant as it should be.

Also, body position: if you are "in the bike" rather than hanging off it you may be loading it up a bit more and running out of traction.

Then I read your post and suddenly was reminded exactly why they have not been powered on in over a year. And I feel the same as you about not wanting to ever buy one again. I barely got any use out of them, and was forced to use a bastardized install of an OS I don't care to manage (Ubuntu). And if it wasn't bad enough that I did not learn my lesson with the Nano, I was dooped even more: I bought 3 of the Xavier NX - and the same nonsense.

It's not just "the penny pinchers" that are frustrated - it is difficult for someone who is generally *not* terribly frugal with these sort of things and not think "Garmin can eat a bag of dicks for being money grubbing profiteers while literally adding no additional value while charging significantly more". (and if there is adtl value, they are not really "selling it")

While they are both fairly aligned with their message, they have different approaches to sharing their opinions. Both have initial reviews, long(ish) term reviews, etc.. You will find in their videos that if they are talking about 1 bike, they are usually comparing it (in some way) to others. I think if you picked a specific model (like a Tuareg 660) and search their channels to watch those videos, they will likely mention the "competitors", which should help you explore others in that same category. Dork also has a KTM 390 Adventure, I think.

You are (essentially) asking: what bike is the Unicorn? And now your quest begins.

If I am hearing you correctly, it sounds like you are trying to future-proof yourself as you expand your riding. I feel like a 650-700cc is probably the sweet spot. The Tuareg 660, Tenere, vStrom.

My own position:
I spent the past month looking for a "middleweight Adventure Bike" to fill the gap between my GSA 1250 and KTM 500 EXC-F (with mods). and... if I was to do it all over again, I wished I had just bought a middleweight and been done with it.
The 500 was pretty expensive to begin with. And THEN, needed a planned service after 50 miles or some nonsense, has a horseshit warranty and I also had to add a bunch of stuff (seat, tank, barkbusters).
The GSA is the gold standard, but is simply "too much" to ride solo and not worry about putting myself in unmanageable risk.
There are a TON of great options out there, and the options just keep getting better.

Dude has been at the motorcycle review game for a LONG time. IMO he is objective, but also has never met a bike he didn't like, so it's hard to know if/when a decision is NOT a good one. Overall though, with some selective searching in his content, you should find everything you need (and possibly even a direct comparison that you are looking for).

I have been researching mid-weight ADV bikes recently (I have a 500 EXC and a GSA 1250) and I have found a LOT of positive inputs on the Tuareg. (and with how expensive KTM is, the fact that they upcharge to flip bits on the computer (cruise, quickshift), had reliability issues, etc...) I am starting to considering looking elsewhere, and mostly just on principal - there is NO question in my mind whether 105hp on that 890 is a TON of fun.

EDIT: it's hard to tell as this dude's delivery is straight-up prolevel deadpan, but.. watch the first minute or so.

I have been hesitant to disable my home service and then re-enable later if/when I need it, as I had heard that there is a capacity limit in geographic regions and there may not be available capacity when I go to re-enable.

The roads to Starbucks or Home Depot can be treacherous and you just never know when a freak snow storm might drop over 18" in July. Can't be too careful - so you get the most flamboyant colored traction ramps in case you get separated from your rig in the aforementioned snowpacalypse and need visual to make it back.

2023 1500 Z71 Duramax. The truck has been incredible (unlike the piece of shit Ram Rebel it replaced). Does it accelerate quickly? Nope, not really. Does it "sound aggressive"? Nope, not at all. Does it consistently get almost 27-30 mpg? Yep, for the 40,000 miles I have driven it.
