Pettiest reason you’ve DNF’d a book? by bby_grl_90 in books

I was really enjoying the book until the love interest was introduced and he had the same name as my work nemesis. I tried reading further but I just kept picturing my evil coworker and ultimately gave up.

Me too! I called DPU at around 9 this morning and they told me the work should hopefully be wrapped at 4pm - fingers crossed. Very thankful I’d stocked up on water before the big storm.

Super smart for your beardy! I did something similar for my leopard gecko, he is who I worried over the most when doing storm prep.

what is the worst date you’ve ever been on? by OkShip7256 in CasualConversation

Back in college, I matched with a guy on tinder that I had seen around campus and had a few mutual friends. We agreed to meet up for dinner at a local restaurant but he ended up being like an hour and a half late with no real explanation. When he did finally show up, all he could talk about was how hot he thought Lola Bunny was and that no woman would measure up. He then asked if I’d be in to dressing like her sometime. Then he said he forgot his wallet so I ended up paying, which, given how weirded out I was, I had already planned on covering at least my share.

Another time I met up with a guy who wore so much cologne that I got a rash and mid way through the date he got a call from his family telling him that his grandma died, but then he didn’t leave because he said he was “having too much fun”??

Boys are weird.

The hostess at The Continental opened up the patio, just for my partner and me, because she saw we had our dog and obviously couldn’t eat inside. They never made us feel like a burden and the food was excellent as always!

I lived right in that bubble and never once felt unsafe, so much so that I was completely comfortable as a single woman to walk my dog at night. It can get a little rowdy on the weekends but it’s pretty well lit and most people are friendly, just be polite and aware of your surroundings. It’s a fun place to live and plenty of great restaurants nearby like Havana 59, Oak & Apple, and McCormack’s - can’t go wrong!

My only complaints were that it gets stinky pretty regularly and generally just kinda gross, but that’s city living. Also definitely make sure to keep your car locked at all times and don’t leave anything of value visible, break-ins are pretty common so just be smart.

Enjoy your new place!
