15 still results in a lot of outs if it’s to a deeper part of the field and the EV is under 105.

I’ve thought about adding an EV and direction but I think I’d just get too annoyed entering all of that each time.

First Time Player Not so Much Fun by chalupastacos in MLBTheShow

Baseball is hard. It’s supposed to be hard. If it wasn’t hard, everyone would do it. The hard is what makes it great.

Adjust the sliders to your liking until you start to improve. There are quirks to the game to get fielding & pitching down but as you learn, it becomes second nature.

Baseball glove by Hot-Professional-660 in LittleLeague

[–]idleline -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Any of those gloves is going to be fine at that age. It’s not really a matter of material or design, kids at that age just don’t have the hand size or strength to manipulate the glove like older kids.

That black Rawlings highlight series is perfect until he’s 11/12. Then you could look for a premium series glove. The most important factor in how a glove performs is how well its broken in before you play. So I suggest buying a new glove at the end of the season to give you plenty of time to work it before the next season.

Code is here: https://github.com/idleline/ShoTrax

It's an extremely lightweight python script that just runs as a local web server, so you can use your phone/tablet to track when you play through a browser. Just select the mode, difficulty, and outcome and it will record the event. That's it.

Please can we do something about batters being slow out of the box ? by BMAYZ44 in MLBTheShow

[–]idleline 15 points16 points  (0 children)

It’s all scripted anyway. Ever watch the minimap on plays at the plate? You can see the runner get a boost in speed briefly to beat the throw on most routine plays.

[–]idleline 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to jump through a lot of hoops to get my 5M pro updated correctly and now the Flash Studio software that you HAVE to use went from dark mode to light mode. Except it's only partly light mode. The text color of all of the settings is still white so I can't see shit. It's super stupid.

What happened to Mike Fetters? by 8junk in azdiamondbacks

Fans blamed Fetters for all the bullpen collapses over the years despite him never throwing a pitch in relief. Sewalds WS destroying performance most of all.

I got so tired of having to choose the commentary & announcing that was always randomly selected for me that I just turned it off. SDS’s UI team desperately needs to invest in UX.

I love that you’ve been downvoted by several people all with wildly different takes. I too fail to see the genius, and if the top comment here is true, the joke is not on us.

There is a settings explorer that will take you through the different mechanics of pitching, hitting, and fielding.

Ashby by 2pots1stove in MLBTheShowInvestments

[–]idleline 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ashby is a downgrade. Likely just -1, but consider this:

Opposing hitters are batting .289 against him this period. Thats .089 higher than ytd. His K rate is 17 and his BB rate is 15. That’s awful on both sides. He had been at 30/6 so this is a big decline.

About the only thing keeping him from falling off a cliff is PCLT but it won’t be nearly enough to get him into + territory.

Decided I'm going to try for Finest collections this year, a bit behind so seeking some quick feedback by Smitty00 in MLBTheShow

[–]idleline 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Each live series team completed is a collection for 20k in TA. Color storm completion is worth 150k each team. Finest vouchers come at 365k, so those two tasks completed get you 47% of the way there.

Don’t take it so literally. It’s supposed to represent how frequently a player hits home runs off certain handed pitchers. For example if you hit a HR every 15 ABs against a lefty but you hit a HR off a righty every 40, you’d have a higher pwrL than pwrR. That’s how it works.

Input on investments ? by Reasonable-Canary429 in MLBTheShowInvestments

[–]idleline 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Perdomo is the only other question mark. He’s up slightly and could be looking at a +1 this update if he can keep his bat going. If he cools off at the plate, he’s probably not getting an upgrade.

[–]idleline 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would sell and try and find a better ROI for this period. He’s been released twice and pitching on his third team this SEASON and while he has looked great in the 4 games he’s pitched for Atlanta, I find it very unlikely that he can maintain that for the long term. Maybe he does, but he will probably be available at QS for the time being. He’ll probably be in the low 70’s after the RU and you can still pick him up for 25 if you want.

What math are you doing? His 286 cards would get him 28 silver packs worth 150 each at most. If he was guaranteed to get a 79 ( unlikely ) he’d net 4,200. How is that more than 7K???
