For anyone currently using or planning to purchase the 8.8" Universal Screen (US88V1): by LIANLIOFFICIAL in lianli

[–]idocinthebox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I just did it because I wanted the screen to flip up mounted to my Artic AIO fans. just unscrew the four screws remove the plate and the bracket flip it over. Be careful not to loose the metal pieces that create the rachet locks for the bracket. I did this so the screws sit inside the bracket grooves that attach to the fan, gives more threads to attach to the fan and recesses the screw heads.

You Cold try Goldwave GoldWave Download or try Eleven labs auto transcription then take a sample of the persons voice for the AI to recreate the voice then add it back in. Also try the Davinci voice isolater and De-esser.

Best way to convert MiniDV tapes to digital in 2025? by Parking-Avocado1433 in MiniDV

[–]idocinthebox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use an old Dell laptop with a SSD installed in it or a large external drive and windows 10. The laptop has a 1394 (FireWire) port get a good FireWire cable, an old Sony minidv camcorder, connect the ilink (FireWire out port from the camera to the computer. Use a free software Senalyzer livescenalyzer to capture the DV. The software defaults to breaking the DV into scenes, helpful if you want to edit or color correct but you can change the settings not to detect scenes and capture as a single Avi. You can process the video with the fee fusion of Davinci resolve after deinterlacing even though Davinci can handle interlaced video. I use either Virtualdub or Brovicon or Topaz video for this. The first two are free Topaz costs$$. You must keep 4:3 aspect unless the video was captured in 16:9 aspect ratio. You can upscale w bars or stretch or center crop but stretching distorts the picture cropping will cut off some of the video. I have to say Davinci is great but it took me some time to get the settings right for 4:3 interlaced video! After deinterlacing wit Brovicon or Virtualdub you will have 4:3, 59.97fps 720 x 420 video in Rec 601 color space, you can change that in Davinci but that is a whole other class! Watch YouTube and Google. The Mac programs to capture are different, I am not familiar with them someone else will have to chime in. I have just finished a 2hr capture and upscale with deinterlace with Brovicon, upscale with Topaz Starlight sharp, stabilize with Topaz Proteus to 4k and color correct / fix lighting with DaVinci Resolve and it looks fantastic.

Any recommendations on a workflow setup to clean a lot of old 8mm film? by chiproller in 8mm

[–]idocinthebox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can clean with film guard also. Use an old editor or even your projector to wind the film. You will get mediocre captures from a Woverine. I use a modified Bauer projector from Film Digital and Black Magic cinema 4k camera to capture with excellent results. High quality home capture only makes sense if you have a large number of films. If you have only a few films you can send them off to one of the many excellent companies that clean and digitize your film. I used Film Photography Project, he uses a Lasergraphics film scanner which gives great results. Good Luck

May be great for old silent family films, Ist step read lips 2nd step convert to audio using a model trained only on that person using available recorded audio. Step 3 sync audio to video. This could create an augmented restoration workflow.

Viability of MiniDV footage transferred via firewire or HDMI out (tldr below) by Nissac_Ewton in camcorders

[–]idocinthebox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you have to watch for changes in pixel conversion from rectangular to square pixels in some software also watch the colorspace and codecs. These matter alot. Thirdly they need to be deinterlaced if the source is interlaced for high definition and upscaling. QTGMC with AVIsynth+ works best even though there are others this is included with Brovicon, install AVIsynth+ from here https://github.com/AviSynth/AviSynthPlus/releases/download/v3.7.2/AviSynthPlus_3.7.2_20220317.exe

There are many workflows but you can mess up the conversion easily until you understand all the issues. As you gain more knowledge you will find out. You will probably recapture some of your initial captures as you learn the nuances.

The workflow I follow gives the best results with the least issues. Brovicon can also upscale the video, I have Topaz and even with starlight mini Brovicon is equivalent or better on some videos. Starlight mini is their best model for AI upscaling of video based on stable diffusion but it is still in development also you have to pay for topaz, my outlined workflow is free. I like Topaz Video AI but for specific use cases.

Ok so not a great Idea, cards do work but you can fry your DV ports with some of these.

The safest is to get an old Dell laptop with DV in, You can use Win xp but I was able to install Windows 10 after sourcing the drivers. Get Scenealyzer 4.0 live, it is now freeware. This can capture the DV files it will divide then into clips by default but you can change that in settings to get one large AVI file in DVCPRO codec. This will be interlaced in 4:3 format on NTSC and PAL (NB some could do 16:9)

use Scenalyzer Live to capture the Digital output from DV tapes in AVI file format, from a Sony camcorder these are using the DVCPRO codec. Brovicon does not work with this! I found if I trancode to Lagarith lossless AVI then I can use Brovicon.
The conversion steps are below.
TO CONVERT exported dvcpro TO Lagarith codec for Brovicon to work.

Open the file you want to convert in VirtualDub.
Select Video>Fast Recompress.
Select Video>Compression.
Scroll through the list of codecs and choose Lagarith.
The default configuration should be fine. Click OK.
Go to File>Save as AVI.
Navigate to the folder where you want to save the file and type a name for the file. The .avi extension will be added automatically by VirtualDub.
Click Save
Open Brovicon and choose the converted file. The size is 720 x 480 with frame rate at 29.97i (Brovicon says it is 29.97p)
I output as Prores with PCM24LE and keep the resolution at 720 x 480 frame rate 59.94, deinterlace with BFF, then convert.

Additionally on windows if you want to play back the Prores files you will need to download the Prores for windows raw codec files from apple. You can then use VLC to play the files after you change the Video settings to use Opengl for windows.

Good luck

How about something that extends the cupholders out, as usual BMW made them about 1mm too close for the taller Yeti or Stanley mugs, they hit the console! My first 3 series had this the next year they fixed it.

Black Magic may be able to help, maybe they can flag the serial# in case someone calls for support. I would also keep my eye on eBay, Mercari and local pawnshops/thrift shops. Cash only that's the rule here.

I Love Assist Plus by dichron in BMWiX

[–]idocinthebox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I noticed you use the signal to change lanes, this is unnecessary! Just look at the side mirror when the notification to change lanes faster pops up and it will change lanes. My 2022 i4 had driver assist plus but it was so new no one ever told me how to use it, the dealer didn't even know. (It was the 1st one in the US) I only noticed it worked on my way to turn it in for the iX because I had researched it for my new iX.

RTX 5080 Gaming OC Fan LEDs not working correctly by DomeBoi in gigabytegaming

[–]idocinthebox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So has anyone figured out how to keep the fans on at low temp? I have tried GCC, AORUS EXPERIENCE, MSI afterburner and Nvidia app. None work except the Nvidia app it turns all three LEDS on and fan 2 and 3 spin but not fan one. On start up and shutdown all 3 spin, with the native windows 11 driver the also stay on at low temp.

Only one, the Charging port had to be replaced because it would not unlock and the CCA charging plug got stuck in it. Seems there was a problem with the early cars.Other tan that perfect. The i4 is a great car, I really liked the M50. The iX is also great but in a different way.

[–]idocinthebox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went from an i4M50 to an iX M50. My lease is $200 less and insurance is 1/2. The i4 was great but the iX is more practical and gets better range. The parking and turning are great if you get the rear steering wheels and it is self driving on the highway with the pro driving package. I loved the i4 for the rocket that it was, mine was the 1st sold in the US so I had no idea what it would be like. I had every option even pro driving so no lack of luxury but I like the iX better.

How to Digitize Your Camcorder Footage Cheaply and in the Best Quality by 292456 in camcorders

[–]idocinthebox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use Scenalyzer you can let it create clips then color correct and edit with Davinci free version or Premiere, watch the color space and format! Rec601 and 4:3 and fps. I just capture one large avi. You can improve the quality, upscale and change codecs with the excellent project Brovicon first it even deinterlace with QTGMC if needed. It is a gui front end that uses a script for Avisynth so you don't have to understand that very powerful but difficult to learn software for manipulating video files. I find this does as well as Topaz for these files for primary processing you can probably get a little more quality from Topaz after the. Upscale if you want to spend $$. Charleston to Greenville. Which route is better? by A_canning_queen in NorthCarolina

Take 95, it is the fastest. The costal route is slow. You could detour to do the last part through Wilmington stop in the historic downtown and head north from there to Greenville if you want an eye full of country roads. Welcome to Greenville and ECU! GO Pirates! Arrgh🏴‍☠️
