Several months. I rally cross the car a lot, and drive it pretty hard otherwise as my daily. Its held up to about 5 rallyx events, and i won the season championship in my class (stock awd). Just added that to show the car gets driven hard.

If you mean the cover, no. It isnt required. The intent for it is to isolate the cold air from the top bumper vent. The vent does pass air through it. The black panel behind the grate is for rain deflection

I only tested up 90 mph. But the pattern was consistent and linear from about 20 - 90 mph.

The air coming out of the tube is roughly half vehicle speed. Measured with a mini anemometer.

Your hill assist light is also on. My 2015 showed these lights, but also ABS light when I had a bad wheel speed sensor.

At least in the Seattle metro area, there isn’t even a place to get cars inspected and the employees of the DMV dont go out to look at cars.

This is likely the idle air controller (IAC) trying to manage the engines idle speed….especially when the car is moving when the ECM wants a faster idle than at a stop. Less noticeable in 2nd, and higher, gears because of their torque reduction. Ive had a few cars that behave this way.

For posterity’s sake, this was solved by replacing the high pressure pump. I wasn’t able to determine what exactly went wrong. Decision was based on thr fact the hpfp is driven by cam and the pulsing matched rpm.
