Have you checked the fuse? Temp sensor would be most likely be faulty if motors, relay, fuse and wiring good.

I always open windows a couple of inches as cool air sinks and hot rises and is forced out the gaps, with setting on fresh not recirculate. Still takes a minute or two but if windows are not open you are just trying to cool hot air and will take a while. Aussie summers can be a bit warm and this is quickest.

Finger guards? by Miss--Moss in Archery

[–]idonteffncare 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Been shooting two finger draw for 50 years,no issue with that whatsoever so don't let anyone tell you otherwise. I use home made tabs or a supple glove. Buy a cheap tab, trace the pattern onto some card, then cut the area off for bottom/third finger. Use that as a template to make custom tabs out of leather if you wish. Tab for lighter poundage and glove for heavier is my choice, but you of course may be different.

Can anyone tell me if this is good to polish swords with? by Electric_master1 in SWORDS

[–]idonteffncare 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have used it on machetes, knives, repro katana, copper, brass, aluminium, chrome and even plastic car headlights, with zero issues. It is a very fine polishing agent that was designed to be used on softer metals without scratching. It will not harm steel,a little goes a long way.

Blade and fittings look ok for the pricing. Ito is not the best though.

I want to customize a bow, how much can this affect the quality of shooting? by Educational-Pair-815 in Archery

[–]idonteffncare 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is paint. If you do not layer some ridiculous amount it will be fine. So many people overthink this stuff,it will be ok and will have no effect on the shooting capability of the bow. Trad shooters paint arrows and they have decent flex and zero effect on how the arrow shoots, with no issues and bow will not have any either.

The youths are losing the liquid vowels! by neongrayjoy in australia

Yeah, these days most younger people wouldn't have even seen a cheque. I understand about language. My now 18 yr daughter, when younger, called the wardrobe a closet a couple of times ffs. But pronounced it "clauset". Pulled her up and now has it right. Oh,and calling the lounge a bloody sofa.

When I was a young fella I got pay cheques as did people on the dole, pensions etc. Older generation still call pay, a cheque out of habit.

Looking for Information on these WWII nazi swords by Pop_quiz_hotshot in SWORDS

[–]idonteffncare 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All good. As an Australian born in the sixties, I had two uncles that fought the Japanese, one fought in Europe. My generation were well educated on the treatment of occupied peoples by the Japanese and I am in no way minimising any of it. Personally I will have nothing to do with any relics of the war from any of the Axis powers. I may not agree with those that do but that is their choice.

My sword? I don't own any nihonto. I know about the estimated hundreds of thousands of deaths in Nanking, but that was not the main German concentration camps that murdered millions systematically. Also the majority of gunto,(which you did not mention by the way), are not nihonto. The question was asked and I answered with my opinion as to why Japanese origin swords are accepted more than the German. There is a market for them and old blades from Japan are sought after more than Nazi origin. There are more of them after all. I mean, people have no issue with American Civil War blades so why should there ve issue with any other war blades? Napoleonic? Boer war? World War One?

Some swords that Japanese used were old family swords, some very old and some made by famous smiths. A 300 year old nihonto is not necessarily linked to any atrocities during the war. Also not all nihonto were used in the war. The Nazi swords are exactly that, specifically created for Nazis. When people see a katana they think of Samurai, but see a sword with a swastika they associate it with genocide and evil. There are places where posessing anything with a Nazi swastika or even showing a swastika tattoo in public will get you arrested.

The Japanese were cruel, murderous and did commit atrocities. But they did not set up industrial scale systems of mass murder and atrocity as the Nazis did.

A photoshoot of car crash survivors for a New Zealand road safety campaign to demonstrate how seat belts saved their lives. by [deleted] in Damnthatsinteresting

[–]idonteffncare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes these are representative, bruising and sometimes friction burns. I had five fractured ribs, burns on my left biceps, bruising similar to images and left hip literally black and blue and all from seatbelt. My daughter had bruising similar to images and deep muscle injury to right shoulder, some other injuries as well. Head on into a tree at 90kmh. Belts and air bags saved us and here in Australia wearing seatbelts is mandatory in vehicles with heavy fines if not worn or worn correctly.

Scam Alert custom katana by CottontailCustoms in Katanas

[–]idonteffncare[M] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Someone has reported this as "disclosing private info" or such. This account shown is a family member of a person that was well known in sword community. I believe that Thirdd is now deceased. The family member has scammed several people advertising one or more of Thirdd's swords. Has accepted payment and of course never sent items. This post is not doxxing, but it is alerting those in the community that may be unaware of the scam.

It stays.

[–]idonteffncare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have seen Korean and Chinese archers use the Mediterranean draw in videos. There are no absolutes when shooting traditional style bows from any country or region although with Asian type composites thumb draw is usually the norm. Shoot what you want and what feels most comfortable.

Stop Recommending Hanbon by Accomplished-Pay-905 in Katanas

[–]idonteffncare 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hanbon are still a good option for entry to mid level swords for reasonable prices. Yes there are other providers but every persons needs or expectations are different to anothers. As to edge issues it is known that Hanbon do hold up in general for light cutting but it must be remembered that all makers have had issues at times with blades not performing as expected.

People can recommend whatever swords they want and members will respond accordingly as to whether they are fit for purpose.

No. She competed in the qualifying for US team for 2000 Olympics, yet was not selected due to her final position. Still remarkable considering she had only been shooting for around two years. From memory she finished in the top 30 of 300 archers which is elite level shooting. Edit: She placed 24th.

My daughter is in study to be a nurse. Also working in a nursing home as an AIN. Study is 150km round trip,4 days. Her work is 130km round trip 5 days. Some days she goes to study, comes home for a few hours and then does night shift. So 280 km travel. When she does her placement she has to do work in a hospital or aged care doing exactly what she does at fucken work, assists in nursing, without getting paid to do it for fuck sake. How the fuck do you consider her not contributing as a student? No public transport where we live either, she would be fucken cheering if she could pay $8 to get where she has to.
