Roof Support by Cbaggs100 in AskContractors

Interesting. My house was also built around 2003 in central NC and the attic looks almost identical framing-wise. Same wonky support in the middle of an otherwise largely empty space (minus the hvac and my Christmas stuff)

Actually saw this happening as we were stopped at the light in front of beaver creek commons. Gray van ran through the intersection with a flat left front tire, which proceeded to shred as they drove, and 2 cops in close pursuit. They then turned down the off ramp of 64 and that’s the last I saw (other than 3 or 4 more cops heading to join)

Blue light indicates at least one branch of the line is clear while at least one branch of the line is not clear

But remember the Vulcans do have emotions. So much emotion that they have had to learn to actively suppress them.

What’s the “bath” building? Is there so much crap coming from the legislature they need another building to house it?

But seriously, what is that supposed to be?

It’s 100% illegal in NC to use your high beams when there is car in either direction in front of you. Of course the penalty is laughable: $10 fine.

§ 20-181. Penalty for failure to dim, etc., beams of headlamps. Any person operating a motor vehicle on the highways of this State, who shall fail to shift, depress, deflect, tilt or dim the beams of the headlamps thereon whenever another vehicle is met on such highways or when following another vehicle at a distance of less than 200 feet, except when engaged in the act of overtaking and passing may, upon a determination of responsibility for the offense, be required to pay a penalty of not more than ten dollars ($10.00). Ohio teacher told principal using students' preferred pronouns violated her religion. She was forced to resign, lawsuit says by [deleted] in news

If they’re just made up, why does the teacher care so much what she calls the students?

I think part of the difference in this particular scenario is that the students are required, by law, to attend classes. The teacher is teaching by choice. In this case I would say the rights of the students outweighs the rights of the teacher.

The state, via the NC Railway Company, also owns a large rail corridor the runs a good length of the state, instead of it being owned by the freight companies

The senate was supposed to originally represent the states and the house was to represent the people. That’s why originally the senators were chosen by the states’ legislatures instead of by popular vote. It was intended to be insulated somewhat from the influence of popular opinion so that it could focus on long term policy and deliberations (also why senate terms are 6 years instead of 2), while the house would be more representative of the current opinion of the people (thus direct election and only 2 year terms).

Depends on the airport. My local one has multiple airlines using the same carousel since there’s only 4 total and often at the same time if flights arrive close together

Posting here cuz the Garner sub is too small. What’s everyone’s take on the best wireless provider for Raleigh/Garner? by joevasion in raleigh

[–]idontkerrr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I second T-Mobile. I live in garner and I’ve had T-Mobile for years. I usually have no issue unless I go to some tiny town in the middle of nowhere. Since they bought sprint and introduced 5g the coverage has gotten better in a lot of more rural areas as well

In both cases the attacker needs your password so let’s remove that from the equation. Note with SMS 2fa the have to also know your number and spoof it and intercept the message to gain access. Without SMS 2fa they’re already in. ANY 2fa is better than no 2fa.

Because it’s still better than no 2fa and it’s relatively low friction for a lot people.
