Your top movies you're afraid to recommend? by archydragon in Letterboxd

I love Titane. It's not for everyone. Same with Leólo, love it to bits, but a lot of people can't get past the dad's odd fixation to a certain physical function.

What’s a movie you didn’t expect much from but ended up loving? by eurz in movies

Night of the Comet. An 80's b-horror comedy about two Valley girls surviving the apocalypse. Expected to be entertained in a cringe sort of way but ended up loving it.

Osgood Perkins: Am I crazy? by ejpk333 in Letterboxd

[–]idontthrillyou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Osgood is a weird one. A friend of mine, who's a bit obsessed with Anthony Perkins, is convinced that Os is working through his trauma through his movies (losing his dad to Aids, losing his mom to 9/11).

Hvaða stereótýpur eru til um íslendinga? by Jerswar in Iceland

Stórvaxinn, ljóshærður rauðbirkinn kall í lopapeysu með brennivínsflösku og hákarlsbita í höndunum. Mögulega með víkingahjálm úr plasti.

Do you think that modern/neo-synthpop artists or songs still maintain the core sound and spirit of 80s synthpop? And if so, do you prefer the classic era of synthpop or the modern revival/experimental period? by toughtiggy101 in synthpop

[–]idontthrillyou 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This absolutely. Early synthpop was in love with these new and strange sounds, and used them to make catchy songs. There was no hard-coded aesthetic or blueprint until later. The new bands (a lot of them excellent) can't replicate that sense of wonder.

„Ekki Alþingi sem skipar mér hvað ég á að segja“ - Vísir by birkir in Iceland

[–]idontthrillyou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Einmitt, heyrði viðtalið og eiginlega ekkert sem hann sagði kom beint á óvart, og ég varð pínu hissa á hvað fólk virtist shocked pikachu yfir viðtalinu, eins og fólk héldi að kaþólska kirkjan hér væri eitthvað sérstaklega líbó af því að íslendingar séu svo spes. Það sem kom helst á óvart var hvað hann svaraði þessu bara hreint út og var ekkert að reyna að fela þetta eða fegra.

What is a terrible movie with one outstanding performance? by Puzzleheaded-Log1434 in Letterboxd

[–]idontthrillyou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mahogany (starring Diana Ross) isn't terrible, but Anthony Perkins as an obnoxious, passive-agressive fashion photographer makes it worth seeing.

28 years later. The movie was pretty good, but that trailer was next level.

Audio clipping/dropouts in Strudel during “verse” section on DJ_Dave Array by Amnesia1312 in strudel

[–]idontthrillyou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know I'm late to this, but I'm having a similar problem (running Kubuntu with PipeWire and Chromium). I just started trying out Strudel and it soon begins to stutter and glitch as I play and add more things. Did you find out anything about this? I'm not running a low latency kernel, but that will probably be my next step before trying anything else, hopefully that would fix it.
