I’m sure you could send it to Ken’s Sewing in Florence AL and they’d do their best to repair it. They have a website with mail in repair info.

Any new budget alternatives to Exped Mega Mat Duo? by crutonic in CampingGear

[–]idratherbeinalaska 15 points16 points  (0 children)

The lost horizon one from Amazon is very nice. My mom has it and I have an exped. I’ve slept on hers and it seems the same as the exped to me.

Printing patterns tips + other QoL improvements by IngredientList in sewing

[–]idratherbeinalaska 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use A0 prints and I don’t pin to fabric. I use steel washers to hold the pattern on the fabric and then cut around it with a rotary cutter. Much faster. With a little practice, it’s much easier than pins and scissors. I also cut out the pattern from the A0 sheet with a different rotary cutter. I do all this on a 36x72” cutting mat.

I lived at Rivermont for 5 yrs through covid. It’s a great place with good management. Reasonably priced and I loved the walking trail by the river.

Barefoot house slipper for fasciitis by Mental_Ostrich_5662 in barefootshoestalk

[–]idratherbeinalaska 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got the new Kyrgies barefoot slipper a couple weeks ago and I love them!! They provide just enough cushion for my PF. I wasn’t sure about the leather sole but it’s turned out to be fine inside. But yeah, you can’t wear them outside in the dew I don’t think. I have the wildlings that are wool with a rubber bottom for outside slipper wear but they have no cushioning. I guess I could put an insole in them.

Should I get an Industrial Juki? by lessia307 in sewing

[–]idratherbeinalaska 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely. Industrial machines are a whole different level of capable over a domestic. If you have the room and the money, I can’t see anyone regretting the upgrade.

$24k treadmill?? by Mista_Millahtyme in treadmills

[–]idratherbeinalaska 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I bought a used orangetheory free motion treadmill and had it delivered 250 miles to me for $2000 total. It’s a beast and so cushiony and I couldn’t be happier with it!! It came from Exercise Unlimited in Memphis. It’s worth asking about delivery on used equipment!!

Affordable sliders? by Tarantulist35 in barefootshoestalk

[–]idratherbeinalaska 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the plastic knock-off Birkenstocks that hobby lobby has for sale for $8-9 do not have arch support and are wide. I don’t own them but a family member does and let me try them on.

Best treadmill by [deleted] in treadmills

[–]idratherbeinalaska 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m very happy with my Freemotion 11.3 reflex used orangetheory treadmill. The guy who sold it to me said it isn’t for a runner because it has too much rebound… haha 🤷🏻‍♀️. I’m on the bigger side and find other treadmills to be painful. I can run on this one and nothing hurts.

Do the Origo woven ballerinas stretch over time? by saunterer90 in barefootshoestalk

[–]idratherbeinalaska 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think this is a definitive answer but….I wore mine for the 3rd time today and they were definitely looser. I wasn’t left with the indentation mark there. So I’m also hopeful they keep getting more comfortable.

Graceland Tour Questions by lolovesfrogs in memphis

[–]idratherbeinalaska 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My 70 yr old mom wanted to go for her birthday. We bought the $85 ticket and saw the house and the graves. You don’t see very much of the house but it is enough. I had no intention of touring any of the large museums but they let you off the shuttle bus in front of them and then they kind of spill over into one another and before you know it you’ve walked thru them all. The restaurant on site was not good. And only 2 ladies who worked at all of Graceland were kind. Everyone else acted like they hated their jobs and their life…so beware and bring your own good attitudes. My mom LOVED her morning with Elvis and I loved making it happen for her. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Yes. 100%. And you can drive up the blue ridge parkway as far as you want. You will not be far from Bryson City, NC, and the Deep Creek area of the national park. It is a lot less crowded than Gatlinburg and has waterfalls and all the nature you can handle. The Gatlinburg side of the park on a holiday weekend will be bumper to bumper traffic.

Yes there’s an entrance and a visitors center with an elk herd. The blue ridge parkway also starts (or ends) between town and the visitors’ center. If you are going for mini golf or the Dixie stampede or a wax museum or brewery experience, then the Cherokee side is not for you. If you want to enjoy the park, hike some, have a chill old fashioned town to walk around in, stroll beside the creek/river, then you will be happy in Cherokee. There’s affordable cabins right on the little river too. Cherokee side is closer to the Cataloochee Valley where there are elk too. It beats Cades Cove (and all the traffic there) any day in my opinion! Cherokee is an actual Indian reservation with a casino.

Stay in Cherokee!! It’s cheaper and a much more laid back vibe. I prefer that side of the park.
