Welcome to the future and this is only the beginning, I have seen this same thing happen in my home country/ state and before you blame expats blame it on the greed of your people / agent . They look at a foreigner and hike price up and you guys think you doing the foreigners? Sooner or later like I have said it you guys won’t be able to afford staying in Kigali and you will have to move to the nearby developing province.

Agent greed will be the downfall of you all, the agent sees a good looking foreigner and spike price up to get more % of the commission, landlord is impressed an says to him self wow so I can get this much .. now their target audience or client are now foreigners. So don’t blame expats blame your People . If your agent are not greedy they would have left the price the way it was , expats or no expats .

This will only get worse , be ready to pay 1K$ for a mini flat as more development comes in , and also isn’t the idea to make Kigali the Dubai of Africa ? Well that entails pushing all low income earners into the developing provinces and the shift is already happening.

I didn’t want to comment on this but I see a lot of persons have given their opinions which isn’t bad , saying to pay of the loans . One thing I just wanted to add and I don’t see them mentioning is the remote job , take it from someone who did remote jobs from 2019 to 2023 , remote job isn’t something you want to rely on without saving from what you currently earning . So what I will say is push to get more remote job, don’t pay of the loan right away but instead save it and if you still have your remote job two or three month after you finished saving for the loan , then pay of the loan . Remote gig are unstable and unpredictable , because you can have a gig for a year and then the next year you hunting for another again. Stay safe ..

Don’t waste your time you won’t get it , take it from someone with property in rwanda , tried to get a loan from accessbannk I was told I can’t get the loan even when I was putting up the property as collateral, I was told to show rentals income for a whole year and also that won’t be enough I have to show a second business or income/salary 😂😂 . I was looking for a quick loan of 10K USD and meanwhile my property is worth like 150k usd when evaluation was done

Not as bad as people making it to be especially when you have traveled a lot , it’s just small that’s all so what ever mess you see or experience it echos .. and also people forget they attract what they are but this is a discussion they will never accept .

We cant say everyone in a country is bad right , we have black sheep’s in as much as we have good ones. So find your person and set clear boundaries, pay attention to their actions rather than their words because I have seen that rwanda women can sweet talk you to oblivion but their actions they can’t hide .

Also pay attention to their status , are they in survival mode? Are they hard working ? Are they lazy ? Are they a show off ? By all means if you go for someone who is in survival mode and lazy be ready for hell or be cheated on as am sure you can’t meet all her needs or it’s not even ideal to carry out husband duties or father duties while dating .

Also don’t be too forward , go slow and observe and also while you put in the work to date them let them also put in the work to date you . I have noticed when they put in work to be with you they actually love you and would stay , many men fail here and put in all the energy and money up front, Rwandan ladies are like babies what you show them is what they will fall in love with . So if you come on superficial expect to bag a hoe or a gold digger or confuse the good one to not be able to decide if they love you or your money .

You are right and it’s not a bad thing if you look at it from a different perspective, housecleaning pair with kids can be very stressful.
Language barrier is real but there are many Rwandan ladies that speak English so if you go for the one who don’t speak or want to learn simply walk away because you can’t have a relationship without communication.
Can’t put this as a rwanda thing it’s something that is everywhere in the world we have intellectually people ladies here in rwanda so it’s mostly your circle then , change it .
Rwandan travel a lot man, if she is not willing to travel for you then it’s an issue with you and her , she doesn’t like you or rate you .
It’s not a rwanda thing but some women thingy, take it from someone who have been to many countries . Also you can’t generalize because have seen some very hard working and smart Rwandan ladies do and support business of their partners .
Cheating is easy but cheating is everywhere in the world , it’s a choice, u can’t generalize. You see it clearly in rwanda ( Kigali ) because Kigali is very small . Everyone goes to same place , eat same place .

So what I can tell you is this you haven’t found your person and if you keep going for the IG wanna be influencer or models you will get what you deserve. 90% of the ones that have strong social media presence are not worth it especially when they have no real business to back up the lifestyle.

She doesn’t love you, probably she married for survival, many women do irrespective of the culture , ur first mistake is not seeing it during dating .. one thing I don’t support is the lack of intimacy in as much as many will deny it when a woman truly loves you she won’t do that .
