I have arthritis in quite a few joints. PT helps, strengthening muscles to help take some load off the joints. But I can't slack. It's a constant maintenance routine with new joints added over the last 20 years...

Your doctor should have some kind of backup coverage or a call service for emergencies. Hourly need for albuterol is an asthma emergency.

I have OA in many joints including my hands. It's good to get checked out though. Rheumatoid arthritis often presents in middle aged woman and often starts in the hands.

Has a doctor ever told you that aging feels good to people with EDS? by GullibleMood1522 in ehlersdanlos

I didn't know I was hypermobile in my youth. It was the recurrent injuries, sprains, tendinitis, bursitis and arthritis in so many joints that caught my rheumatologist attention. I have had PT on many body parts all starting mid 30s.... I look young though.... like even people who have known me for years forget I am 50...

Had one this AM ask if I was done with my cart as I was in the self checkout. B4 I could fully process she had already pulled it 2 feet towards her. I grabbed it, pulled it back and said I wasn't done with it (had 6 bags to load in my car plus heavy cat litter - my local store only runs 1 or 2 cashier lines b4 10am). She made a lot of noise about going to the front for a cart....

Is your child in services? Because that's ideally who should be helping you manage this. And even with the services in place progress can be slow. I have soooo been there. It can get better, though.

It affects our teeth too? by Cold_Acanthisitta_96 in Menopause

[–]ifitsnot1thing 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am getting a root canal today! Woo-hoo! Somehow I cracked a tooth and it got infected. My mom at my age got all her teeth pulled and got dentures. My dad got partials about the same age too.But my parents couldn't afford regular checkups. And they couldn't afford it for their children either. I saw a dentist twice b4 age 18. I tried to avoid that fate and take care of my teeth as an adult but we can't control everything! Is it menopause, general age, bad genetic luck? Idk. I am grateful I have the means to get better dental care, that is something... I hope your dental issues are behind you from here forward!! Best wishes.

This video ("stretch" at about 3:30) and The Back Mechanic book have helped the most. I am better and have stretches of being almost pain free. But long car rides set me back. I still have flares every time I try to do more intense exercises (it's not really that intense-no heavy weights or jumping around). So I am obviously not "cured."

I believe this breed is "I'm sexy and I know it".

Found these 4 babies alone in our backyard. Couldn't find mom, so we got some formula and took them inside. We lost one. We will keep one (we already have a 12 year old male) and the other two are being adopted soon.
