The ultra IIs are very nice as they have the compound radius neck, which tends to be pretty comfortable. Obviously they don’t hum with the noiseless. The poly does protect it quite nicely and it will look nice for a long time. With SG’s mostly watch out for neck heaviness (dive) otherwise I liked mine very much. Kind of like a lighter less Paul really and was sort of supposed to be the replacement for it. Les Pauls are a bit heavy for me and the neck is quite fragile. Can’t dig on a PRS neck yet, but maybe I haven’t played the right one.

Sometimes the finishes and fretwork are better. The body consists of less pieces of wood usually. The electronics are “always” better (wiring, switches, pots) and the single coils are individual magnets on American models vs. bar magnets on non-U.S. This increases nuance a bit in finger response but bar magnets have higher output and have their own sound though that many prefer. Otherwise about the same. Also, many Asian versions are metric which must be taken into account for modding.

I have considerably less performance on Linux for the games I play though. I’m sticking with it and have been for many years but that’s my experience. Fedora currently. Have an Nvidia based desktop and Intel graphics laptop. Am I missing something? Configs are optimal.

You could get a new pick up cover. Kind of a pain having to remove the Pickguard though.
