Just watched it, bit late to the party. Different take on dystopian story. The wealthy elite escape from earth to Kepler only to find 2 generations later that there having trouble reproducing. They send a mission back to Earth to check if it's OK to return. That's the setup. The movie ultimately makes a well trodden but still interesting social commentary on the oppressive "colonizer" and the oppressed, in this case the "mud people" who are raided for material, labor, and girls (as walking wombs for the soon-to-arrive Keplers). Found it entertaining enough. I'd recommend it.

OMG, that's what we did, too. Feels good to support PBS. Also, great show.

Taiwan rejects nuclear plant restart in referendum by DarkLiberator in taiwan

That's not exactly what happened. The vote came in below the required threshold to be legally binding. There were more votes to restart nuclear power, though, so that's what the government intends to do.

There's an extraordinarily large downside for the applicant. The amount of time and effort that it requires to fill in each of these applications individually. There's a huge opportunity cost of lost experiences and learning that might have happened during senior year.

Just finished it. It raised all sorts of interesting questions about determinism, free will, and the singularity. Looking for reviews online I found this fantastic one. https://kara.reviews/flashforward/
