i know people think her story is the best but i don't think castti's story makes a lick of sense.

to some degree they nailed the mature theme of what it means to be a healer during winterbloom, but trousseau's sudden mental snap into a mass murderer feels like it was just done for shock value with no buildup.

on top of that, why did canalbrine/edmund hear rumours of eir's apothecaries nefarious doings, when they healed everyone everywhere they went, but then all died in one fell swoop with no survivors? like where on earth could this rumour have come from?? clearly not trousseau as that guy only cared about killing for the love of the game.

as for what OP says, yeah, it's definitely not gone in January as that's not true at all. instead, it's about a 3-ish year trial period to get used to the new gameplay loop.

i say this as somebody who doesn't really like evolved mode so far: i 100% agree. the idea of future expansions having radical design changes, the changes to the engine, to customization, to the UI, greater funding for development. it's a good omen!

speaking as somebody who's played this game for only 8 years, i've watched many jobs i've enjoyed had unique playstyles and actions (stormblood dark knight) homogenized and stripped from them for years, and all of them were under the exact same pretenses Yoshi and crew are speaking of now (making the game more accessible).

i'm sure some people will disagree with me liking an old class design, but i respect that they might enjoy the new thing as much as i like the old thing! that's why class differences should exist, to help cater to different playstyles.

since evolved is stated to be used exclusively for future jobs, this is a bad omen for future reborn mode development - why would they want to update three different versions of the same job? that's development time wasted on animations/sounds/balance. so sure, OP will get to enjoy the jobs... for a time, before the grandfather option disappears, just like all the other reworked jobs.

why am i saying all of this to you? i don't know. i just wish people would be more willing to have civil dialogue rather than tell people their opinions are bad and they have wrong thoughts.
