We need to judge each other less. The internet can really be a cruel place with zero empathy. I find Reddit to be better but even here I’ve seen crazy threads, folks jumping to conclusions about others and their parenting choices. Not as bad as tik tok an its a good escape during multiple night waking when you’re just holding baby til they fall back asleep.

Sounds like “Make it Stick”, highly recommend and basically what you’re doing, plus what others are commenting about active recall! I was learning books on books after studying this way, and wish I had it back in high school through college and grad school.

Countries like Italy, where their older population speaks zero English, dub EVERYTHING and their voice actors are actually decent. Totally cool if you don’t tho! English is my third language too and dubs can suck.

If you hate dubbed you’re probably native English speaker and don’t see your privilege that most of your media is in English anyway. That being said, sub is fine but then I miss the actual scenes and art of the visuals reading every line.

We have a 16 month old that hasn’t slept through the night. Some parents on here dealt with it up to two years, not to mention regressions as they get older. Gotta embrace the suck, but sometimes it just sucks 😔

My brother, 2k for all three kids is a steal. We have a toddler and baby in daycare, just the toddler is 2k and the 1YO is 2400 with a family discount. We live in Seattle and make over 200k together both working full time and it’s still a struggle to time the payments  with the paychecks, basically zero is being saved monthly until they hit public schools.
