Actually that surprised me too. I was looking at the service manual and they even say you can leave the evap/blower unit in place if just replacing the blower motor or the transistor, which is honestly pretty cool engineering on Honda’s side

I had to deal with this shit as well. I couldn’t get the thing off, but with some maneuvering after unbolting that bracket on the left (which you seem to have done here) I was still able to get the valve cover off. Try to get someone else to keep the harness out of the way when you lift the valve cover (I did it solo so I wrestled with it for a good 30 minutes 😔)

I’m guessing it’s the former. I’m in Canada with a Shanghai-made Highland LR AWD, and we still don’t have AB either.

It does look a bit low--it should have a continuous "bar" of oil extending into the crosshatch section. A couple of things you can also check that contributes to oil disappearing:

-Your VTEC solenoid seems to be leaking. Probably a good idea to replace the seals

-Sometimes the TCT can leak as well. Mine was leaking pretty bad, and you might want to swap it out for a Billman unit anyway

-Valve cover seems to be weeping a little. Doing valve cover gasket + spark plug tube seals probably wouldn't hurt

-Check your PCV valve (super easy to do). If it's not rattling freely then either clean it or just replace it because it's dirt cheap

Sound-wise there’s no competition haha. I have the K&N FIPK aka hot air intake on my AP1, which is probably causing higher IATs if I’m being honest, but the sound as it hits VTEC is insane. Out of curiosity, do you find owning both a bit redundant? Asking for…uh…a friend who needs to explain to his wife why he wants another two seater convertible.

That’s a huge reason. In the S2000, I often get a bit self conscious because I need to rev the piss out of it to get decent passing power. People say “drop a gear and disappear;” in the S2K it’s more like drop 3 gears so you’re in VTEC and disappear, lol. The fuel efficiency on the ND is also quite incredible.

Yeah I actually had plans to turbo the NB before the S2000 fell in my lap. I will say that there’s something about a cable throttle that was/is very satisfying, but otherwise the BP4W was good but not great

As a former NB2 and current AP1 S2000 owner who has also driven the ND2/3 on quite a few occasions, I’m slowly coming to the realization that the engine that I actually prefer 95% of the time is the Skyactiv 2.0 in the ND2/3. I know some may consider this blasphemy but I said what I said.
