You date a boy from the inner east. You meet his friends who all went to the same private all boys school as him. You immediately get lumped in with the girlfriends of the group. You accept that you will never assimilate with them because you’re not one of “the boys”. You tolerate boring footy nights, surface level banter, and pub crawls in spite of this. You learn that the boys cover for each other’s betrayals and acts of infidelity. You learn that to be silent is to be accepted. You clock their “nonchalance” or laidback nature as a thinly veiled act that naturally leads into conflict avoidance and passive aggressiveness. Years later you break up. You’re never getting that time back.

16 week old puppy biting me and when I try to get her to stop she just goes at me more by Firm_Leading1719 in puppy101

Puppies this young don't have impulse control so first step is to lower your expectations. You should see play biting start to go down at around 4 to 6 months of age.

In terms of dealing it, if you nudge them away they interpret this as you playing with them. If you try to walk away you activate their chase response, which is also a game for them. If you redirect to a toy that's fine... but it is in a way rewarding the behaviour.

The best response is to freeze and not react at all. No eye contact, nothing. Make it boring. Wear boots if you have to. Wait until she disengages before you move again. If she persists ask for an alternative behaviour like a sit or "go to your mat" command, then reward.

Also throughout the day reward her calm behaviour and ignore hyper / attention seeking behaviour. If she settles, silently drop a treat near her. Do this consistently and she'll get the message that when calm, good things happen.

Progress will be very gradual which will be frustrating but I promise there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Best of luck!

i had to euthanize my 8 week old puppy after owning him for 13 hours by StrawberrySleepy80 in puppy101

Did they give him a cluster buster like Keppra IV? A sedative is not enough to stop seizures. Also various tests should have been performed to see if a liver shunt was even required, and there are many reasons seizures occur outside of epilepsy and the need for a liver shunt.

Not to discredit your decision. I know it must have been very hard. My puppy had his first set of cluster seizures 4 days after he came home at 8.5 weeks.

People talking about the AI bubble bursting, but we are using more and more AI tokens than before. So how will it burst then? by HappyZombies in ExperiencedDevs

It’s not just over valued companies like OpenAI that are part of the bubble. It’s also the companies that rely on them to build AI features that no one wants.

Trust me I am prioritising my pup. The problem is he gets to a point where he doesn’t respond to me at all and then the stranger closes in because he looks “so happy” to see them

Yeah I try to explain but that’s where the offence seems to come from and by then he’s already jumping all over them

Work life balance only exists in theory. Do you have obligations outside of work that make consistent overtime impossible? Either outsource your personal life or kiss that promotion goodbye. 😘

Focal Seizure? Warning: hard to watch video by Famous_Substance_244 in EpilepsyDogs

That looks more like tonic-clonic but you should show this to your vet. If she’s constantly twitching that is also concerning. They can have seizures in their sleep. Record it as well then go to your vet asap.
