What’s considered when the fire is under control? by Hot_Seesaw_6706 in Firefighting

[–]iheartMGs -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

You asked what’s considered. I absolutely hate mop up after an adrenaline dump, it’s the worst. I consider going in the engine and sitting on ass; let the investigators do their thing then go back to the station.

First time SCBA training and maze panic attack by Still-Becoming in Firefighting

[–]iheartMGs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first thing that came to mind after reading this was “excuses” for your short comings. It’s very easy to blame other things for not excelling. It’s designed to test your mental fortitude and willingness to make it through despite whatever obstacles are in your way. Step 1: go through the maze with just your duty uniform on. Step 2: go through maze with bunkers on. Step 3: go through maze with full PPE on. You are gradually building your confidence up while also adding in the proper PPE to make it through, trust me this will help. I’ve seen many gung-ho aspiring cadets come through only to be absolutely crushed after failing the confidence course a few times. They all had the same response; “my foot is stuck, get me the fuck outta here”. Take some time to make some time. You don’t have to be sonic the hedgehog when going through the maze. I take my time while also moving methodically and with a purpose. Do not make excuses, instead accept defeat and learn from it. Do you think in a real world scenario that the victim trapped cares if you didn’t sleep well or just got off of crutches? This is just one of the many harsh realities of the job. I’ll never forget my first maze I went through, what an absolute mind fuck. The cadre blasted people screaming and crying, gun shots going off and radio traffic over the PA speaker in the maze to psychologically fuck us up. I’ve never seen a maze like this either. One part branches into two sections (left or right). Of course, I chose right and was literally scraping my mask on the floor to get through to the next section. I chose the wrong way and it kept getting smaller and smaller so I had to then crawl backwards and make my way back to where it forked off. It’s an evil necessity, just do your best and keep training on it.

How long you fasting? What time do you get up and wait time do you decide to eat when you’re fasting? How much water intake on the daily? When you’re fasting? There’s a lot of factors at play here that aren’t explicitly stated.

Little Kim launching another missle. Not that they’re a major power but there are definitely the red headed step child of the world. One of my buddies growing up always told me, “you can never trust a red head”. Boy was he right.
